Re: BARROW V Yeovil match thread

Watched highlights. Much improved performances all round. There needed to be changes after the way we showed our soft centre against Stockport and players coming into the side did well. All battled well and we need that right now. The HT heated debate, manager letting them have it out. Result- much ...

Re: Has FBS Stadium sponsorship ended?

Watched highlights, BT Sport repeatedly calling the ground Holker Steet. Either there is some advertising block and BT are not allowed to refer to the ground by the sponsorship name, or the researchers haven’t done their homework and put the name on the presenters / commentators notes. Considering t...

Re: Lack of ball boys and girls ?

I did indeed research this after seeing Jason Walker jump over the HSE wall to retrieve the ball with the clock ticking away and we were losing. I got so frustrated at seeing 5 minutes game time lost every game waiting for players to retrieve a ball, usually the goalie having to walk to the corner f...

Re: Stockport v BARROW match thread

I not disagreeing with you and respect your opinions fellas, but I have just watched the highlights and you can see we were poor defensively as a unit, not just the The Centre half pairing. We are nowhere near tight enough on the opposition when they have the ball. At some point there has to be a ch...

Re: Stockport v BARROW match thread

Well stop them getting the chance to lump the ball up in the first place. That is where the defending starts! not the last line with Dixon and the back 4 under constant pressure. Who in midfield is wrecking the build up play? Who is the tough tackler?

Re: Stockport v BARROW match thread

Yes we need cover at centre half just like every other position but I dont think it is the root cause of our defensive frailties. We need to be stronger defensively as a unit!! The nearest man pressing the opposition player with the ball, doubling up on this in the middle third and stopping teams de...

Re: Stockport v BARROW match thread

Too much focus on the centre halfs here. The team needs to defend better as a unit and that starts at the other end of the pitch. Stopping the supply will take some pressure off the defenders.

Re: Stockport v BARROW match thread

Listening to Evatt post Eastleigh, he spoke of going over the weaknesses, questions asked and answered, was rightly so proud of the effort, scrapping, heading, bodies on the line etc, and you come away from the game thinking - good we’ve sorted that out, time to push on. Now that feels like it’s all...

Re: Stockport v BARROW match thread

Not tuned in but we are going to come under pressure. They are the home side and have yet to win so expect more of the same second half. No two half’s have been the same for Barrow so let’s just hope we learn from the Wrexham game, stay composed and then expose any gaps as they come forward. We need...

Re: Brian Arrowsmith Stand Floodlights

I got in touch with the club asking this very question. The reply informed me that the Board is addressing a number of issues around the ground and that this would be in hand. No specifics of when. This was in mid July. I was hoping that they would be fixed in time for the new season as I agree that...

Re: Barrow AFC v Eastleigh FC

Also, defensively today we were a lot lot better. Eastleigh laying it on in the second half with the wind behind them but we held strong at set pieces and successive corners.

Re: Barrow AFC v Eastleigh FC

Angus could have been the league's leading scorer had he converted chances in the three games. I think he will come good with a little more confidence. Think he’s great, what a turn of pace he has. He will score. Think he could have laid one up for Quigley who was in a better position though with o...
