Re: BARROW V Solihull match thread

Good result but a shame Taylor will miss the next match as he's one of our key players.

Re: BARROW V Solihull match thread

From what I saw in the last 2 away matches, Rooney is easily our most creative player although he ran out of steam in the second half of both matches. Hope that doesn't happen today.

Re: P Hornby's Friday BBB RC Interview

I don't think for a moment that Paul Casson had anything other than the best of intentions for Barrow AFC. What surprised me was that he didn't seem to have the slightest idea just how much money is needed season after season to keep a club running at the level of his initial ambition. What I am sur...

Re: Team and prediction oldham tues

Based on what I saw at Aldershot, Platt will make a huge difference to the defending! He was physical does tackle and did stay close to the striker he was marking. Looking at the highlights of the match against Oldham, their players seemed to be as bad at finishing as our first team has been. They h...

Re: Aldershot v Barrow Match Thread

I’m obviously absolutely delighted we got the win of course, but to read that we almost conceded a two goal lead again In the second half again tells me it could have been a very different post match feeling. We are conceding a lot of penalties! I was on the halfway line so quite a distance from th...

Re: Aldershot v Barrow Match Thread

What a strange game! Barrow dominated the game for 60 mins and well deserved to win BUT the game should have been a formality by half time and it was again panic stations for the last 30 mins. I've been to the Aldershot away match for 3 or the last 4 seasons and I have never seen an Aldershot team a...

Re: prediction v aldershot saturday

Although we lost at Woking last week it was a decent match and Aldershot is another game I can get to easily so I'm hoping Barrow can defend better than they did last week. If they manage to do that then there's a good chance of a win as Aldershot are also struggling. However, if we defend as we did...

Re: prediction v aldershot saturday

Good feeling about this one 1-2 to the bluebirds Kay-Dyson....5th season gone and only 2 of our 5 strikers scored if this is correct........This is where the problem seems to be now Not really. Problem is at both ends of the pitch! Only 5 teams have scored less but only 3 teams have conceded more!!!

Re: BARROW V Hartlepool match thread

I’ve only seen a couple games this year and the impression I get is where trying to walk the ball in the net rather than having shots! We seem to be overplaying and if I’m honest to do well in this league there’s no point in trying to play Barca football. I watched the class 92 documentary and when...

Re: National League Highlights 19/20

The focus on Connor Browns mistake, but for me the two other goals are avoidable in the build up. Their first is yet another goal conceded from a delivery and header from out wide, Hardcastle has got to do more to stop that cross coming in. Where is his challenge?! That is our achilles defensively....

Re: National League Highlights 19/20

Absolute shocker by Connor Brown...you just spin and hoof it or kick it out for a throw!in. What was going through his head there? Regarding the pen, do these refs get asked to explain their actions? Points to free kick outside the box, gets a player in his face and points to the spot. Unbelievable...

Re: Woking v BARROW match thread

First time I've managed to see Barrow live this season and it followed the pattern of what I've heard on the radio and all the highlights I've seen. Barrow played some good football but again missed chances. However, the defending was diabolical and even though Woking scored 3 they missed as many ch...

Re: BARROW V HALIFAX match thread

When Ian Evatt looks at the stats he must be pulling his hair out! Even with all the missed chances we've scored 9 goals which, while not brilliant, is around the mid-table mark. However, only 2 teams have conceded more so it's obvious where the main problem lies. Even more stark is the comparison b...

Then l would say that Granite is the new Arrowsmith. Reminds me a lot of ‘Arra’ does Josh, particularly when the Holker Street legend was nearing the end of his FL career. Maybe older Forum posters might concur?
Maybe in build and movement but not in ability!
