Re: Lack of ball boys and girls ?

Such is the range of topics that are discussed on a football forum that what constitutes a wall or not is given a post, ha. I've been to Plainmoor on countless occasions and three sides of the ground are definitely what I would describe as a wall. The Bristow Bench stand side is the exception but To...

Re: Lack of ball boys and girls ?

Watched some of the Torquay v Aldershot match on BT Sport. They have a wall around the perimeter of the pitch yet had ball boys. Doesn't seem to be an issue with them.

Lack of ball boys and girls ?

Why don't we have any ? The amount of time wasted by opposition players retrieving the ball is unbelievable.
As is the case in this afternoon's match with Yeovil.

Re: Team for Yeovil

Yeovil have injury worries.A couple of key players will be missing. This really is a game we should be winning if we have any top half of the table aspirations. Dyson to start and let's see if we can get David Fox to reduce his wage demands and sign. And what's happened to Rhys Turner is he fit and ...

Re: Any more players before Sat?

Maybe we can't afford David Fox's wage demands ? Which is a shame because he would have been a great addition. I find it worrying that at the moment we only appear to have one keeper. It sounds as if Johnny Saltmer is going to be out for some time. So what happens if say Joel Dixon gets injured in a...

Re: Prediction for the season

Last season we finished 10 points off a play off place so the big question is are we a ten points better off outfit this time around ? On paper the squad appears stronger in depth but how much better is the starting eleven ? I've seen David Fox play over the years I think he would be a quality addit...

Re: 40 Years of National League. Barrow v Yeovil

Years later I got to know some of the Yeovil backroom staff and I mentioned I'd been at that first game in what was then called the Alliance. I remember the game because George Courtney was the ref. He'd been in charge of the Charity Shield Wembley Final only the week before. The Glovers official sa...

Re: Photos of ground developments

On page two of this thread there's a photo of what looks like a store room. Was this under the BDF shop and if so how did you get into it ? That's some work you lot are putting in put in, you're a credit to the club. I never thought I would get so excited about seeing photographs of refurbished away...

Re: Maidenhead v Barrow

I do apologise if asking about the club's financial situation is perceived by some people on this forum as being negative. Having said that some of the people that seem upset by me asking these questions were the same ones accusing me of being Paul Casson a few months ago so what the hell do they kn...

Re: Maidenhead v Barrow

I seem to recall the Cassons buying the club for what Holker Street was valued at the time. I think the sum of 630 thousand was mentioned. The new owners which of course also includes the Trust, paid, I think I'm right in suggesting, 500k so maybe this came with some debt. As in the Cassons wanted t...

Re: Maidenhead v Barrow

I've noticed in Manager and Board interviews there's often a reference about uncovering debts. I thought the previous regime had left the club "debt free" I thought that had been what had been implied when the new board took over but from listening to recent interviews that appears not to have been ...

Re: BARROW v Dover match thread

Other teams take a two nil lead against us, it's game over but when we go two up you're always hoping we can hang on. This season has been a success because we've stayed up with a lot to spare but if we're to become serious play off contenders next season we need wholesale changes.
