Re: Barrow v Bromley Match thread

Good stuff from Suffolk Blue. Some posts before that were contemplating who to keep and who to release. In my opinion the most important person to keep is Ian Evatt, by far. He got (on paper) an average squad playing excellent football, then things changed and he got them playing a different style b...

Re: Chesterfield (a)

Would just like to say how good I thought the radio commentary was today.
Also well done to the travelling supporters.

Re: Andy Firth

When he played regularly for us at the beginning of the season I thought he was good - particularly distribution. Really suited the style of play. The style changed and he made enough errors to get Dixon in, and I’m surprised there was no obvious sign of him getting back in the side; personally I’m ...

Re: New Signing

I agree he can play and has a good attitude, but sadly he can’t do it for 90mins. He’s knackered half way through the second half if he starts. There is a view by many that Hindle must be unfit, based upon Evatt not playing him for 90 minutes. I think these are tactical decisions with Hindle. Sadly...

Re: New Signing

Yes Si Terry is his father and why would it mean anything for McFarlane as it still only leaves us with 4 fit forwards and Evatt doesn't seem to trust Hindle starting games. Cheers for confirming that Stu - I am guessing there is a fair chance his father played against us at some point then. On the...

Re: Agustien gone

Totally disagree. I’m fairly convinced that to call someone naive and arrogant is a criticism, and in fact it’s an insult. In my opinion it is also totally unwarranted. It wasn't meant to offend - it was a point of view, which is what this forum is meant to be about. If it has offended you or Evatt...

Re: Agustien gone

I have never heard of these guys who are representing kemy - but from someone who is experienced in this area I find the whole negotiation and turn of events completely baffling. The standard fee that an agent charges a club for their work is usually a flat 5% of the players total base salary for t...

Re: Agustien gone

I think a few folk are overreacting in terms of the comments on Saturday about the fans. He prefaced it by saying the fans had been great all season and he was disappointed that the players got stick rather than encouragement on Saturday. That’s fair comment in my eyes. Now, given the inherent gloo...

Re: Agustien gone

I think Evatt shows his naivety and arrogance, the way he criticised John Goodwin after a game and has a go at the fans. I am not meaning that as a criticism but he is just starting off and I am sure he will adjust as time goes on Spot on! Totally disagree. I’m fairly convinced that to call someone...

Re: Agustien gone

All very well talking about breaking down defence with clever passes, but there weren't any, we simply played sideways and backwards for most of the game! I applaud Ian Evatts intentions, but in this particular game there was just no end product, and he would have done better to acknowledge that ra...

Re: Agustien gone

Just answering my own question about sanctions over agents, and I’ve researched it a bit....seems the FA are significantly involved; there is an interesting list on their website about “intermediaries” (a posh name for agents) who have been banned and why.

Re: Agustien gone

Interesting. http://theafa.uk/styled/ Thanks for that, and interesting as you say. A meaningless exercise in self justification. A worthless piece of paper to sign. Who has any sanction over these individuals? What are the sanctions, even if they exist? “Proper” professions have stringent sanctions...

Re: BARROW V Halifax match thread

In the stand it was a lot of the usual “I’ve only come to have a moan” brigade, but more loud and more persistent (ok it was a shocking game) than usual. It’s a boring and predictable attitude, and as Evatt said on the radio, unhelpful to the team. I might be wrong, but largely the loud critical one...

Re: BARROW V Halifax match thread

Well what a let down after beginning to believe our own propaganda about how good a team we have got, on and off the field. Everyone (rightly) upbeat and positive about the number of points and the manner in which they were collected over Christmas. Salford as an exciting match and result as you cou...

Looking forward to seeing him and Dior play today should be a good game
Me too. I may have missed something, but is the lad from Birmingham still with us?
