Re: Agustien

An increasingly influential player for the team on the basis of his last two performances particularly. Sometimes he makes runs or passes not seen by those around him - but this will come with more familiarity. Terrific goal today - and a seemingly improved willingness to battle for every ball - ( a...

Re: Barrow v Salford Thread (KICK OFF 12:35)

A terrific all round performance. Played Salford off the park for long periods. First half , didn't keep the ball too well , or get in the shots which the increasingly strong wind could have bent or curved in. Second half looked impressive for this level. The fighting spirit ( not to mention the ski...

Re: New loan signing

Sounds like a useful player when he plays to his potential . Let's hope so ... I reckon we are developing a useful squad ... but I do wonder who could 'sit in' for Jason Taylor in that midfield holding position should he get injured. I'm sure the management team will be working to rectify this . Fro...

Re: Barrow v Gateshead

Once again we played some great stuff at the outset ... but failed to score. Gateshead were rarely in the game in the first half ...the only times they got the ball were when they either intercepted a misdirected pass - or received the ball from a misdirected pass. . They crowded the space between t...

Re: Barrow v Dag and Red

Probably our worst performance this season saw us once again beaten by a late goal after having created enough chances to win the game - and not taking them . Uncharacteristically, we gave the ball away - too often leaving ourselves open to break away attacks - one of which payed off . We seemed rel...

Re: Steve Arnold

I reckon that's another plus as we attempt to build a stronger squad than last season ... Good luck to the guy - but he was suspect on long shots , and seemed slow in his reactions.

Re: Backroom staff confirmed

Peter Atherton is a good guy... He knows the game, has many contacts and has played at the top level for many years. He was captain during his time at Sheffield Wednesday. A good appointment - hopefully forging a good management team with the new manager . Things are looking up( I hope ) :-)

Re: Barrow v Chester match thread

Well we survived - thanks to the actions of others - but performances like this have happened too often at home. The team doesn't do the basic things at all well . Passing, support, movement off the ball, closing down , shots on target ... are rarely seen . Leadership on the pitch is lacking . The d...
