Re: Barrow v Harrogate Town, match thread

How many of yesterday's squad would be up to league 1 Standard if promoted so we don't do a Carlisle and come crashing back down especially with rumours regarding Spence and Campbell futures, in the end it might not matter but would be interesting to find out. Oh sound then we’ll just put out the b...

Re: Barrow v Harrogate Town, match thread

With Harrogate's record away from home (except at Mansfield) - draws at Swindon, Wrexham and Stockport - it was always going to be tough. Lots of shots but very little threat on goal. I suppose if the penalty had gone in it might have opened the game up. I hate playing Harrogate!

Re: Harrogate a tough nut to crack

After all they conceded nine at Mansfield so are not impregnable. And presumably their defensive set up is a reaction to that chastening experience. For us, games against harrogate are always a dour affair and not much fun. It will probably be more of the same tomorrow unless we can get a couple of...

Re: Colchester United FC (h) match thread

The reason we're quiet at home is down to the way we play! There may be some truth in that, but I remember commenting on this forum many years ago that our crowd was quiet. I think at the time I said it was like Wimbledon (tennis) with some oohs and ahhs and polite applause, but rarely really hosti...

Re: Walsall v Barrow, match thread

Tremendous performance by Paul Farman. Over the last three seasons he's been consistent. When he first arrived many noticed his frailty when collecting the ball mid-air in the penalty box. He's improved that aspect of his play. I would now rate him as the 3rd best keeper the club have ever had - ju...

Re: Fans forum

From my point of view, I am happy to pay £10 occasionally when I want to watch a Barrow game, and £40 or whatever it is for an annual iFollow audio pass (because I can't get Radio Cumbria  ) but I am not willing to pay £29+ a month because I don't have any interest in watching any other football.

Re: Colchester United FC (h) match thread

Talking to one of our 1st aid lads situated in the away end, he said the Colchester fans were giving Cowley and his players heaps of stick - which they returned in equal measures. Not a happy camp by the sounds of it I am not sure what they have to complain about. Listening to the match commentary,...

Re: Remaining fixtures

I noticed that in April we finish with 3 successive away games followed by a home game v Mansfield. Tough run in.

I see that the Walsall centre half got sent off for two yellows today. Both sides missing their regular centre backs on Tuesday?

Adam has just interviewed Paul Hornby in the pre match. Interesting stuff. I am sure he will post a link later today or tomorrow.

Re: Colchester (H)

I fear another Forest Green could be on the cards 'Barrow syndrome' is defined in the football dictionary as getting a good result then playng the next game with high expectations and losing. We have suffered from it frequently over the years. I have often been accused of being a pessimist but, as ...
