At 75k, we should buy that and complete our ownership of the whole footprint of the ground. Obviously it's an auction so the price will be higher but even so.

Re: Holker Street Development

The new development will be paid for by a communal rummage down the back of all sofas in the Furness area. The alternative is a new ground built out of matchsticks to be placed in Walney Channel. It will be called 'Keen Island'. Seriously though, do you REALLY. Think that funding and alternatives ha...

Re: Holker Street Development

I'm thinking about a Plan B for ground development. [insert uncosted wishlist] any QS out there?- How much for all that then? Plan B views? - is this doable?, would it be more cost effective than the total rebuild shown on the feasibility study?? Funded by sponsorships of everything and whatever sp...

Re: Holker Street Development

Let's be honest, if there's one thing that Pop Siders like more than standing up it's moaning so this will keep 'em going for a few months. :D To be fair Dave, that statement is a tad all encompassing matey, some of a certain generation might moan for the sake of it, but not all pop siders do. You'...

Re: Holker Street Development

I really don't think the plans will change. If they've been working on these since the Feasibility Study was done then I doubt they'll come up with a few alternate designs when we're within sight of spades being put in the ground. Let's be honest, if there's one thing that Pop Siders like more than ...

Re: Holker Street Development

I get frustrated with how long these things seem to take and then begin to doubt whether the plans will ever bear fruit. I don't pretend to understand big business and maybe the length of time this process is taking could be completely standard. Not sure when this one started but I'm currently mana...

Re: Holker Street Development

Gateshead came out a few years back with some whizz bang announcement about their plans for new ground which was due to be ready for 2011/12 season.....they now think 12/13 is going to be struggle. I think I'd prefer not to know the full craic rather than see the future, only for it to keep slipping...
