Spend,spend spend

Full marks to Paul Casson, you can't accuse him of not holding back on the spending front. Floodlights: Rather than going for the cheaper let's replace option, he decides to, if reports are to be believed, spend one hundred thousand pounds more on maintaining what we've got. Inside Soccer: He could ...

Cheap Season Tickets the way to draw the fans in

I've noticed over the last few years some clubs have introduced very low season ticket prices. I think Hartlepool once charged one hundred pounds. Eastleigh are running a similar scheme this year. The idea is to try to fill the stadium and make money by selling more food, programmes, shirts, etc, th...

Re: Gala Day - and the damage to the pitch

I'm glad I asked the initial question. From the answers, it looks like this will be the final time the Gala will be held on the pitch so hopefully it won't rain that weekend. Without doubt a worthy event but I think most people would agree it probably shouldn't be held on a football pitch so close t...

Re: Gala Day - and the damage to the pitch

Let's just hope then it doesn't rain that weekend because I hate to think how it could effect the pitch. A worthy event, but it's being held at the wrong time. It should be held in the week after the season finishes along with all the Junior Cup Finals

Gala Day - and the damage to the pitch

I realise the Gala Day brings in much needed income to the club but having never been can someone enlighten me. Is it held on the pitch ?

If so, I hate to imagine the damage it could do to the playing surface if it's held on a wet day.

Re: Our title hopes receive a huge boost

The talk is that Hemel Hempstead will have to switch to the Conference North. Good away day for Barrow's London based fans.

Our title hopes receive a huge boost

I wouldn't want to wish the demise of any club but I've been surprised that a thread that got a brief mention in the General Football section hasn't been discussed more in detail here because it has a huge knock on effect to Barrow's chances of gaining automatic promotion this season. Surely the boo...

Re: Players

Because of the recession clubs are reducing their playing squads and there are going to be hundreds of players who played last season (13/14) in the Football League and can't find a club. A few names spring to mind. Jake Gosling released by Exeter City and scored for Gibralter against Estonia the ot...
