Nailed on Tuesday nighters-

Chorley
Stockport
Wrexham
Plus a rearranged game at Torquay. :(
If Wrexham turns out to be the Xmas/New Year fixtures then I highly suspect that one of those two games will end up being re-arranged as well.

Re: Ray Johnson. 13th February 1943 - 4th June 2019

Sorry for your loss Mark.

I too was taken to HS at a very early age by my father thus creating a unbreakable bond. Many of my memories from that age are of being with him at games and for what its worth I now look back on those memories with added warmth as I too get progressively older.

Re: Dan Jones

Feels like a good move for Dan. I'm sure Salford would be able to match any salary offers from Blackpool, Fleetwood or Accrington. Div 2 means he will almost certainly play week-in, week-out rather than hovver around the bench in Div 1 and the standard is a little less intense. We should've got some...

Re: Players linked thread

For anybody that's interested, and to get the subject of AFC Fylde off this thread, I've put something on the General Football area of the Forum that corrects one or two of the "facts" quoted above about that club. Some seem to be in danger of getting obsessed with them and as opponents of the said ...

Re: Morgan Penfold

+1 OK not what I understood . Do you think he would really choose South Africa over Barrow? But alas he did. The shame of impending relegation with the mighty Bluebirds sent him into the clutches of the now defunct Port Elizabeth City (via a stint in the French Foreign Legion). He may have gone on ...

Re: Morgan Penfold

We had a Millionaire in charge do could supposedly pay money in the early days We have to trust the Manager but it also shows he wants to build players who are signed to the club and not loaned, possibly a asset to sell. Hopefully someone who wants to make it and use Barrow as a stepping stone to be...

Re: Retained List 2019/20

Very glad Rooneys staying. Played his socks off towards the end of last season. His distribution also offers something different. Brown seems to have got a bit of a bad press. He can be inconsistent, and as a pure defender maybe is not in the top drawer. But he puts in a shift has pace and gets the...

Waterston out, Penfold in. One Whippersnapper for another. Not much risk there as long as priced correctly.

Re: Morgan Penfold

I did suggest that when the new faces started to arrive they might not be household names...….

However you dont drag a youngster from down these parts and put him on a two year deal unless he's impressed somebody.

Re: Players linked thread

Look forward to this thread every year. Its always interesting reading the views on who would choose who. If there is one thing I've learned from Ian Evatt over the last season is that he has a pretty strong understanding of what he wants. What makes him so interesting is that he also comprehends th...

Re: BARROW V Hartlepool match thread

Must also mention the incident when several gulls pinched a pie towards the beginning of the second half and squabbled over it largely oblivious to the play on the pitch. Which player's pie was it?   It seemed to emanate from the direction of the Trust fund shop. So I immediately th...
