That’s very good of you Mark, if I can advertise your place on the BAE intranet for contractors please drop me the details to ianrainford@aol.com

Just had a text informing me John Woods (winner of this months 1901 club draw) has donated £75 to the GMA account. Thank you very much John, a really generous donation.

While everyone is in a positive mood 😁 there’ll be another visit to the ground on Sunday, it’d be a big boost to us all if you could spare a few hours to help out with various jobs as we’ve been really struggling for numbers these past few weeks. As always, no particular skill is needed, just a willing pair of hands.
A pm, reply on here or an e-mail to the above address would be really helpful as we can better plan the work and organise a bite to eat for everyone.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

That’s a fantastic gesture! I am an out of towner these days but will 100% use you in future for accommodation!

This club and its fans can be amazing.
Don't know if this is a free for all offer. 😂😂😂😂
It will be nice though if a kind gesture results in some business for Mark.
I remember when the Carlisle floods were on he offered free accommodation to anyone made homeless.
A kind man.
Not after a freebie, just want to support local businesses who support the bluebirds!
And on the 7th day god created football

This section of the thread has been a revelation. I honestly thought that 'The Bridge' had shut down for good, am so pleased to see that it is open and thriving. Remember it years ago as a Rugby League pub and used to nip in for one when out on a regular Dalton 'tour' with my uncle. Next time a weekend in Barrow beckons, a trip to Dalton will definitely include a visit to The Bridge.

Last call for a bit of help on Sunday.

We have the main jobs covered - but, it’s at the expense of splitting people up and in some cases them working on their own. If you could spare a few hours to partner one of the regulars it’d be a massive help.
Another three or four people would go a long way to completing the jobs we have on the go. These are jobs that will benefit us as supporters and the club, in both the short and long term.

If interested could you please pm, reply on here or e-mail me at ianrainford@aol.com

As usual there will be food and tea/coffee during the morning.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

This club should in my opinion give Ian and Tom p some sort of title as what thay do for the club is outstanding, I had a call off Ian to come Sunday to do some paving, and trust me it's hard to turn someone like Ian down when he calls, I love our club and with people like these around, weather I have the time to give or not I simply cannot refuse, we all in many ways give up skills, time, effort and support for our club and that's good or bad which makes me proud of who and what we are as a club, to our current team and owners a huge 'thank you' from us all
Love many, trust afew, but always paddle your own canoe ! My spelling is gash

Numbers slightly improved (ten) even with two regulars out of the country. This made it a bit easier to spread the workload - a couple extra on the next visit really would make a massive difference to what can be taken on, so if you were ever thinking of helping one Sunday morning please get in touch.

Wiring for top foyer TV has been started.

X Bar path has had the broken & dangerous flagstones replaced.

New laundry area is taking shape although it’ll take another visit to have it up and running.

New electrical area has been started. This had to move to allow the laundry room to take its place.

Ground has been litter picked. Again!

Some re-claimed pictures have been put on display.

Thanks to Elaine for making the brews and clearing up after us.

A non stop morning but more jobs slowly but surely being ticked off the list.

Litter picking the ground on Wednesday after the Tuesday game sounds like the first job for me. What time will I be able to get in the ground?

Is 9-30 too early for you. I have our list of jobs dependant on the weather. Got to find a pair of goggles for one of the jobs. Don't come dressed up. 😂

Once again a few “thank you’s“....

Sefton Aubergine started his three day stint at the ground yesterday with Elaine and Al. I believe all the glass on top of the walls on the East terrace has been removed. That was apparently highlighted by a safety group as a H&S issue.
I’ve also been told that Sefton has put a first coat of masonry paint in the new laundry area. Which takes away a job for us.

Thank you also to Ally_cat who has opened a DD through our account on the GMA thread title. All these donations help us massively when taking on projects for the club.

I think we’ll be having another ground visit this weekend to carry on with projects such as the laundry room and freshening up the club shop plus many other smaller jobs. If you feel like you could spare a few hours please drop us a message.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Peter was also there doing his litter picking.
I must admit I was shocked to see the rubbish dropped by the people who reserve their seats. Not floating fans these but ones who must have the club at heart.
The rubbish is collected in all weathers by Peter who gives of his time freely and always with a smile on his face and never a complaint. Well I am complaining on his behalf. Not only collects the stuff but then sorts it for recycling. If only there were more like him.
