Enjoyed that tonight, Rooney excellent, felt sorry for right footed brown stuck at LB great runs and positioning, same as kay, one time kay did cut inside he scored a great goal. Joel Dixon made great saves ansld other keeper looks a good back up.
Worry about us in centre defence,

We controlled that game second half and have to say very impressed when we got back to what we are good at. Angus is going to cause havoc down that right hand side and Harrison, hope we can get this one over the line this week.

Friendly though, so I need to recognise we are trying new systems and different things. (First half)

I've spoken to a couple of friends who support Plymouth and they have nothing but positive words about Fox. Considering he was playing in League One last season, and to a good standard you would imagine given their comments, it would be a fantastic signing. I have been left impressed by his play in each game he has played. Our midfield options would be excellent should we sign him up. With his name being listed on the team sheet rather than being noted as a triallist, it could suggest that talks are at least being made, alongside the fact he has now appeared in a few games. It would truly be a statement of intent, I would think.

Fox has played 128 matches for Plymouth since 2016 so was obviously a regular first team player in Division 1. I'm surprised he is dropping down 2 levels but he is almost 36 but I'm still surprised a Divison 2 club hasn't signed him.

Thought Connor brown had a great second half defensively but more so with his great link up play with Josh Kay down the left flank

He was at Blackpool at the same time as Evatt. Obviously has respect/good working relationship with him. I'd imagine that is the most likelt reason he's at Barrow as opposed to a L2 club.

Plymouth offered Fox a new contract but he decided it was time to move back up north.

I’ve only been able to see the Blackburn friendly so far, and don’t know if he played in that.
Someone who can ping the ball around accurately (particularly if we have a bit of pace in the side now) would be a bonus.
I researched Fox a bit because I don’t know anything about him. Very experienced. I did notice he’s 35 years old. So what if he can play?

Turn the clock back10 years and arguably our greatest ever transformation -near relegation to play-off promotion - was partly masterminded by a 40 year old midfielder. There are plenty of young bucks in the squad to do all his running and grafting. His age might be to our advantage scaring off possible EFL clubs.

It boils down to money.
Jason Taylor is first choice for the role that Fox would play so Fox would be a bit part player covering for Taylor in suspension/injury.
Depends what his wage demands would be, would he even be happy to be a bit part player?

Still a lot to weigh up in the next week or so

Taylor could also play centre half with Fox and Rooney ahead of him
Bring it on!!!
