Not a great game to watch and once they scored I thought they’d go on to win it.
I wasnt confident at all about Kay taking the pen, I would’ve thought there were half a dozen others who should’ve been ahead of him. Having said that their keeper must’ve been three yards off his line when the ball was kicked.
Rather baffling how they ended the game with eleven players still on the pitch....

Jason Taylor should walk away with virtually every award this season.

That drum.....FFS.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

So, for those of us who weren’t there; did Rooney put in the rebound?

No, we had two pens in 10 minutes. Rooney scored the second one right at the end.

Evatt really quite flat in his post-match interview. Didn't think any player was particularly good, generally not up to the standard he expects. Pleased with 3 points but need to improve for Tuesday.

One bright note: Norrington-Davies in contention for Tuesday.

A woeful Barrow performance for 80 minutes. OK strong wind and bumpy pitch didn’t help, but a complete contrast to Tuesday. Didn’t deserve to win today, and didn’t deserve to lose in the week. Very very lucky to get first penalty - didn’t seem to be one - all happened v fast for second, seemed like a handball.
Aldershot used to be a potent force in the league, usually up the top end, but they looked a limp outfit today. They were terrible in front of goal, and probably were into double figures for attempts. We had about five (including 2 penalties) - just about sums the afternoon up.

Strange game we hit the bar and Jones missed an absolute sitter first half and we looked fairly comfortable without playing well.
Second half they score and looked like they would go on to win it.
Then we missed the penalty why zkay took it I don't know but fair play at least he wanted to take it.After that we took them apart and then the penalty and how none of their players were booked i don't know.
After the match one of their fans went on the pitch trying to get at Dixon !
About time we got a break scrappy yes but hey 3 welcome points!

A very frustrating watch this afternoon, there were times when we had the ball on either flank 25 yards from goal and there wasn't one player in the box. When we did eventually cross it they were shocking.

A win is a win. Taylor was immense as usual and must be a dead cert for player of the year.

They look doomed.

You would think our future in this league is now secure for another season, which is a great achievement.

Great that we got the win but it was a very disjointed performance. Josh Kay had a poor game and did not fancy it at all when he stepped up for the pen. Missed the second pen because I was sulking on way back to car.
