Last season a group of us used London Midland services from Euston; they are slower but often much cheaper than Virgin, especially on "walk on" fares.

A few jars at the Beer Festival sounds a good idea - not too far to walk from the station, nor to stagger to the ground!

London Midland is £20 return walk on price from Euston - 1h 44min going there leaving Euston at hh:46 and 2h 2m on way back on 1747 - all with no changes.

I'll be going from Leighton Buzzard for £14 return so be jumping on train from London at MK.
