A three-year-deal is extremely ambitious to say the very least. It could prove to be a great decision or a costly one. Given his varying degree of success in his two loan spells (at Wrexham and Halifax) it's a gamble, I'd argue. Halifax struck me as a side that lacked creativity, though, when they played us, heavily reliant on set-pieces for their goals, with more emphasis on a defensive game - reflected by a strong record in that area and a poor one offensively - so perhaps that could explain his inability to replicate a good return like he had at Wrexham, as he wasn't receiving the necessary service. Depending on who you speak to you get different opinions, you always do - so we'll see in due course.

Anyway, welcome Scott and welcome back to Dior, who has also signed permanently.

Wow Evatt has moved quick to get these deals (and others) over the line. Pleased with all the transfer activity so far.

Looks like we are getting a more than decent squad together.

Of course to make this all work up front we need to bring in an experienced playmaker. Someone who can just make things happen and can put a pass onto a plate.... Anyone know of anyone who fits the bill and is currently looking for a club?

Did you not watch us last season?

John Rooney is quite capable of doing just that & did so on a number of occasions. We could do with cover for him if he got injured/suspended/lost form, but i am more than happy to have him as the 'Playmaker'
Remember, doing a good job that goes unseen is like wetting yourself in a dark suit.

I felt we created loads of chances - e.g. Leyton Orient, Hartlepool - (could have been 9-0) etc. etc. ; so many times we could/should have scored 3 or 4 goals but we never trounced anyone and we never got trounced. . If Tyler had stayed after Xmas we could havebeen in the top 6 no doubt . Still it was a great season by our standards. Roll on next season- I'd take Jordan Williams anytime - he's perfect for 4-3-3.
Hopefully a combination of our retained players all knowing each others game better & the incoming lads being suited to IE's styles of play & less lads to integrate into the squad & IE pushing all to keep on improving could see us being 10% better overall & if that pans out then we could see us in the play off conversation & wouldnt that be a thrill ride.

Rooney and hardcastle will be our play makers with Taylor covering the rear. These guys can pass and tackle . The wing backs will come up and it looks very good . Our best manager since ray Wilkie knows what he needs. We already look better than last season so let’s look forward to a great campaign. Back the club.

Brown and Barry are Right Full backs but with Molyneux released and Rhys Norrington-Davies back at Sheff Utd we don’t have a left back so we need more than cover

i've still got suspicions this guy might be a target - but not announced til after the England C game on the 5th(?) June;-

Another name in the ring;- a young left full back called Alex Brown currently playing for Buxton (same level as we got Hindle and Granite last summer) - 20 years old and just got his 2nd call up to the England C team - a former Sheffield Utd Junior - so probably known to our assistant manager.
Bring it on!!!
