Who puts these together. No regular Home / Away / Home / Away pattern. All Im seeing is 4 away games in a row in Sept and 4 of 5 games in February away. Great planning there.

Torquay is home in Feb Jonty, but Sept is strange.

Was already driving from London to Barrow on the 24th of August.. Now it's via Chesterfield!

That'll be my first game closely followed by the bank holiday home game vs Halifax.

Can't wait to see this team in action.

Apparently thats the 40th anniversary of the Conference/National League start when we played host to Yeovil.

Well so much for all the romantic notions of a great home tie on a warm August day in front of a large HS crowd. Wrexham away does not really fit that bill.

To be honest I'd rather be going to Wrexham on the opening day than on the last day of the season. We were statistically due an away start anyway. Mileage-wise there's not very far for the squad to travel and the bulk of our preferred 11 should be fit and available.

If you looked at the bookies odds you might come to the conclusion that this was a home banker (but you might have made the same mistake last season). Opening day games are a little unpredictable as either squad will not have achieved anything like a true rythmn. Hence why I would prefer to play as an underdog on the first day rather than play for example a promoted side (though it worked out well for us last season ).

Am sure IE would say it doesn't matter who you play as you have to play them all at some point. Also am pleased about the televised tie v Yeovil. Otherwise on paper and going by last years form August looks tough but September less so. However last seasons form does not count necessarily for much as all teams have to prove themselves again. Think the gulf in quality this year between the bulk of the teams will narrow so turning up and performing is likely to make a big difference whoever the opposition is.

With news of the home game v Yeovil on tv live 5.20 what in terms of money do we get for a live game as it would be fab for the board to claw back some from the marvellous work around the stadium so early in the season they truly deserve it

Not much. It’s more about the exposure and putting on a good performance in front of the cameras and hopefully the rescheduling not affecting fans match day plans too much. Yeovil is a long way and this will reduce the numbers who travel up.

It would also be nice to move the August bank holiday game to an evening kick off otherwise you're blowing the chance of a few extra shipyard workers in the crowd.

And Cartmel Races in the afternoon; think this gets suggested every year without much answer
