New Manager

Post by whitty1969 » Sat May 19, 2018 8:18 am

Sensible names only chaps, who can we realistically see in the hot seat.

Phil Parkinson - just taken Altrincham back up
Mark Bower - Was doing a good job at Guiseley now BPA
Gav Skelton - Queen of South
Martin Gray - Darlington
Gary Mills - back on managerial ladder
Danny Livesey - Player/Coach
Kevin Davis - just left Southport
Matt Jansen - Chorley
Darren Kelly - Ex Halifax
Carl McAuley
Karl Marginson

Mark Bower for me.

Have I set my sights too high with this list?
Or is it realistic?

According to Andy Wood last night Gavin Skelton gets on well with the Cassons, so he must have been talking to them.

Job done!

I think Gav Skelton would be a good fit - he knows 'Cumbrian' football which is where we will be looking to recruit from I would imagine. I like the guy and his sister will put 200 on the gate if the club can let us lecherous types know in advance otherwise I won't be going until we are back in the FL as promised.
We'll keep the blue flag flying here...

Gavin Skelton.

Someone who knows the club, understands the challenges in terms of constraints- location, negative perceptions. He is also academy coach at Carlisle and if this is the way we are going then his knowledge will help get that off the ground.

I think he would be a good choice.
Still searching for the Young Soul Rebels

The problem we have is that any decent manager will be his own man and will not want certain people micro manage him !

I can't see how we are going to attract a decent proven manager when the clubs planned cost cutting and ambitions have so publicly announced and scaled back?

A decent and ambitious manager shouldn't have to rely on a cheque-book for success.

A manager that likes a challenge.. Wants to manage in the national league

We won't be the only club with a smaller budget

Eastleigh gateshead and Dagenham are all going to be much reduced budgets.

Even with what has happened this week there will still be a number of managers wanting this job

80 people applied for the Chester job even tho they faced a reduced budget in national North
