Re: Decisions being made

I see Notts County have announced a 24 man playing squad for possible play off matches. Wonder how many other NL side can announce even half that number for a play off fight? Maybe Harrogate

Re: Decisions being made

While we wait for this soap opera to end and countless Clubs on the brink of going out of business I would like Paul Hornby to release a statement to reassure all Barrow AFC Supporters that the board of directors can get us through this difficult time and go forward together what ever league we fin...

Brian featured again in this article.
Excellent article. Friends down south asked me about Brian today. Just made me feel proud of Brian and the club.

Re: Decisions being made

Then a team would be promoted from League 2 into League one on the same principle Granted but there is a problem here Crewe are top on 69 points played 37 while Swindon also have 69 points but played only 36. Do they decide by placing or PPG (Swindon would then go up) as a decision will have to be ...

Re: Decisions being made

One thing that has not been discussed here is the problem of Bury. By that I mean Bury were in League 1 when they were expelled from the EFL. If say Barrow got the nod & Stevenage got a reprieve that would make 25 clubs in L2 & 23 in L1. Who actually goes up from L2 to L1 to even the numbers? That's...

Re: Decisions being made

I hope this doesn't sound rude, but if your first para is accurate, no **** Sherlock. Time for the PL to show understanding and benevolence to the lower leagues. Will it happen? Unlikely. The second para is the same sentiment - I'm guilty of "just talk", as we all are. There are very few options sa...

Re: Ian Evatt Media Day

Yep it’s great we’ve had Evatt in charge for all this for his off the field stuff as well, always comes over well in interviews. If I was Paul Hornby I’d be contacting all the mid table clubs that PPG Etc won’t affect and just be simply saying “wouldn’t you like rid of the long trip to Barrow” Bril...

Re: Decisions being made

I thought some sort of vote or the results of a vote will happen next week but I'm a bit vague about it - however everything is pretty unclear at the moment. For what its worth I reckon they will vote to null and void the league purely due to self interest and then we will have to wait and see if th...

Re: Trophy winning teams

This is the best Barrow team since the 1966 to 1968 squads. It will be a travesty if they don't get the opportunity to play in the FL but I'm biased.

Re: Worst Away Days

Leaving aside Atherstone 6 months earlier in 2013 the defeat at Alfreton 4-0 on a freezing April night which more or less relegated was awful. The team literally fell apart in the second half when a useful Alfreton team put us to the sword. It was just about the end for Dave Bayliss - I actually wis...

Worst Away Days

If we have a best away days thread then lets have a worst one as well. Mine is...... Atherstone Could write a book about the experiences me and my son had that day and one day I may recount my tale. But I've been in some dodgy situations particularly following Man United in the 70's and 80's away. B...

Re: Decisions being made

I think Suffolk Blue, and he can shoot me down in flames if I've got this wrong, is alluding to the fact that if the decision to vote us into the league occurs sometime in June or July then recruitment would be extremely difficult as we could only really start recruiting very late in the summer and ...

Re: Decisions being made

I know people will say stay positive etc etc but think the main thing for me is we won’t get such an excellent chance again. Other teams will be a lot stronger next season, Platt and White gone, other players may move on etc etc. Very unlikely to get a perfect storm two years in a row...... If the ...
