The Two Paul's Columns from the Barrow v Sutton United Programme
THOUGHTS FROM THE CHAIRMAN By Paul Casson, from the Barrow v Sutton United programme We have endured a torrid week but, then again, so have most of the contenders at the top of the National League. We missed a golden opportunity to make significant progress on Tuesday evening at Guiseley - and now h...

Re: Floodlights
He's a retired headmaster, not just a teacher. Quorn weren't a Sunday League . Thanks for supporting my point no end No, this doesn't support your point. It does the opposite. Being a head-master has similar responsibilities to those in the (private) business sector. They have to control budgets, h...

Re: Floodlights
He does, and an accomplished gentleman called Austin Straker, he's the club's CEO. I know who Austin is, I've met him on a few occasions. He is a retired teacher who ran a Sunday League side in the 80s. When I say an actual chief exec I mean someone who has some business background, someone who has...

Re: Floodlights
I for one suggest Casson employs a general manager at the club for whilst he is away. Or an actual Chief Exec. He does, and an accomplished gentleman called Austin Straker, he's the club's CEO. I'd further suggest he employ some business/sales people at the club to replace his family members who ha...

It's a shame that he just never paid for it.The Real Slim a former member of this forum wrote:Not sticking up for him but, let's not forget that stand Vaughan built for us. Fair enough, in retrospect he was the worst person in the history of the club. He still built us that stand though.

The Two Paul's Columns from the Barrow v Torquay United Programme
THOUGHTS FROM THE CHAIRMAN By Paul Casson, from the Barrow v Torquay United programme A third of the season remains and it is still all to play for. We have a minimum of 17 games left in all competitions and a maximum of 25. That's a lot of football in a relatively short period of time. We have trie...

Re: Aldershot v Barrow match thread
I've watched the highlights of the ATFC game, and with regards to Shaun Beeley's sending-off, look at how he comes into the the ATFC player holding the ball (the one stopping the throw-in being taken). His right boot is up, studs showing and straight into the player's thigh, it's a long way from the...

The Two Paul's Columns from the Barrow v Kidderminster Harriers Programme
THE MANAGER’S VIEW By Paul Cox, from the Barrow v Kidderminster Harriers programme The Buildbase FA Trophy gives us the chance to get our game back on track after losing rather disappointingly last Saturday, but I warn you it will not be easy to get through to the last eight of the competition. Toda...

Re: In the Loop?
Never mentioned individual wages. I'm talking about the club's overall wage budget which most clubs are happy to publicise. League clubs have to be open with the Football League as far as proving all monies that come into the club cover the wage bill to stop clubs going under if a rich owner bails ...

Re: In the Loop?
At Sefton, nobody will ever/ever has given a real, genuine trustworthy (for sure) answer to such a question. Better off trying to bite the back of your own head. Which is poor... Information like the wage budget, which I appreciate is fluid and rarely stuck to, should not only be available to the s...

Re: In the Loop?
Perhaps when the next Focus Group is held, some of the people who have posted on this thread can offer to attend and use the opportunity to make the valid points they are raising here? Hopefully this will allow the opinions to be passed across to the board? I'd love to be able to attend the next one...

The Two Paul's Columns from the Barrow v Forest Green Rovers Programme
THOUGHTS FROM THE CHAIRMAN By Paul Casson, from the Barrow v Forest Green Rovers programme And so the second game of a trio of home games that will go some way to defining our season. After the raw emotion of the game against Lincoln City comes another opponent with massive ambition. The collective ...

Re: Missing
Perhaps there are people reading this thread who would have important contributions to make towards the joint project between BAFC and Lancaster Uni? I know the promised feedback from this group has been limited in the past, but I believe steps have been taken to improve this, significantly. FANS' F...
