Re: MK Dons FC (A)
Hope this makes me look like a mug later on but right now Barrow wouldn't score if the opposition went home.

Re: Everton - Lancs Cup game
I remember - at least I think I do - being in the ground when a big crowed saw Barrow beaten 1-0 by Burnley in the Lancashire Cup Final (around 1950) and Albert Cheeseborough scored the winning goal. Or maybe not?

Re: Ronnie Radford
It's just a side issue about the Old Pals Act of the time - but not only did Barrow not finish in the bottom two, Hereford United did not win their League either. As I recall it was either Chelmsford or Kettering Town (under Ron Atkinson). Even so, it was still a wonder goal and will no doubt be sho...

Re: Team Photo: Can Anyone Help?
Barrow-born I moved south with my family in the early fifties so the second picture was mostly filled with strange faces for me. Except one in particular. By the mid sixties I was a sports writer covering Corby Town (The Steelmen) for the Northants Evening Telegraph and became a friendly with Les Ba...

Re: RAIDERS v BLUEBIRDS - the Differences.
As a supporter of both clubs I think what makes it more likely that the Raiders will do the sort of things you talk about is that there were eight local lads in the team that played yesterday. Their mates and families are in the crowd, and it is probably the case that, as rugby league is a lot small...

Re: .Rochdale v Barrow match thread
Sorry, folks, 'apparently' was meant to suggest that was the reason they were signed by the manager.

Re: .Rochdale v Barrow match thread
Somebody wiser than me as I am not a full-time regular at Holker Street can explain why a team that scored 20 goals in the first 15 L2 games and had us in the top half, has only managed to score 11 in the last 20 - since the end of October in fact - despite apparently adding recognised scorers to th...

Re: Lancashire Cup
I didn't realise that the Lancashire Cup still existed but it wasn't always a "training ground" fixture. In fact I have a boyhood memory of Barrow reaching the final and losing to Burnley at (if memory serves me right) a packed Holker Street. Albert Cheeseborough got the only goal for Burn...

Re: Pre season friendlies
I've often wondered why, by way of a change, we do not invite some south of Scotland teams - Queen of the South, Annan Athletic are just across the border and we are never likely to bump into them in competition.

Re: It's not Kelly...
Mourinho's got nothing on John Sheridan for getting it sussed. Eleven clubs in ten years. Just hope Barrow AFC isn't number 12 on the list.

Re: Tranmere Rovers (A)
I didn't expect us to get anything at Tranmere today, but nor did I expect both Southend and Grimsby to win. Only one of them has to catch us to send us down. Surely, even as badly as we are playing, it isn't too much to expect to get just one point from three games.

Re: BRADFORD V BARROW MATCH THREAD
Simple question from a simpleton who watched the match: How many shots did the Bradford keeper have to deal with?
