We didn't need to. I'd be more than happy with 7th place and winning the playoffs. Something tells me it may take a little longer this time.

Re: Disgruntled Carlisle Fans

Personally I think it’s rather sad, that individuals come on here, celebrating the events at Carlisle,an achievement for my team,Barrow,is finishing above them ,not seeing them relegated.I still have fond memories watching them play Chelsea, late 70s I think,we were in the town having played against a...

Not sure there's any pressure on us anymore. We're done for.

Re: Barrow AFCv Carlisle United FC (H) match thread

Barrows population is around 65000 , but as I said if you include towns within about 12mls then that increases to about 100,000 . I'll tell you what Tomo, and I think I've mentioned it before but I would really like to know ( I know its impossible) just how many from Barrow actually make the effort...

Re: Barrow AFCv Carlisle United FC (H) match thread

I've mentioned this before, this is what's going to hold us back, there must be at least 100,000 population within 12mls of barrow and we get around 3000 home fans, am afraid that's not enough to progress this club. In my humble opinion we should be getting around the 4000 mark , Your time in the n...

Last bit is surely a joke? We’ve been awful, but the referee is giving us nothing.

Re: Carlisle game

Been said on here before, but why has this match been rearranged? There'll be approx 4000 inside the stadium, and a few hundred watching on TV. Nobody else cares. Sky TV ruined football for fans of top clubs years ago, now they're ruining it for lower league clubs. Something that should unite the t...

If it's a fight, there's only one side winning. The only thing that's going to give is our unbeaten record against you since your return to the league.

Re: Carlisle game

Well done the Gills for not getting the afore predicted splattering. I have to say that Carlisle are beginning to exhibit the signs of a Mark Hughes side. Their XG today was 2.08. How on earth did that game end 0-0 ? For answers ask Bradford City supporters. Because our strikers are Sunday league s...

Re: Carlisle game

Bloody ell Moonie! I wouldn't get that downhearted. The way you are talking is as if you only had about five games left to play. As one of your other crowd pointed out, Mark Hughes will just get them doing the simple basic stuff which will be enough to keep you up-and then tek it from there. We've ...

Re: Carlisle game

Not so sure about the 'bigger clubs than Carlisle have struggled in non league' quip. Notts County could be argued for - they are averaging around 10k at home, but we'd not be far off that if we were up at the right end of the table this season. Our average even at rock bottom is well over 7k. Beyo...

Re: Carlisle game

When Carlisle got their new owners ( the messiahs) the fans couldn't wait for the Jan window of 2024 to keep them in Div1, well as we know that went well. Jan window of 2025 and they have thrown the dice one last time on signings and a new manager. Don't stay up and it could be years before they re...
