Re: Our best manager/managers
Surely Don McEvoy and Colin Appleton should be on the list of Barrow’s greatest managers and John Commins Barrow boss during the 1931/ 32 season when we finished 5th in Third Division North.

Re: Away Pub for Halifax
I’m coming with a few mates presuming there are no problems anticipated with the pitch. Looking at the forecast Halifax looks to be on the wet side Monday but dry for most of Tuesday..

Re: Barrow v Forestgreen Rovers match thread
I suppose there are some positives from today at least the bar, refreshment kiosks made a bit of money and the players should be fresh going into Tuesday night’s game. Let’s hope that’s on at Halifax.

Scott Smith
Just watched the club’s interview with Adam Murray, sadly sounds as if Scott Smith will be out for some time. I can’t remember him going off injured in a match makes me wonder if the knee injury was picked up in training.

Thanks for all the memories folks even more impressed that some can remember the Swansea game I think Ivor Allchurch may have played for them that day.

Re: Gloucester City v Barrow match thread
Anyone know the answer to this, presuming you might know AJ? Last night we made five substitutions at five different points of the game. I thought they had to be made in three windows with half time not counting as a window. Aye if you’re referring to the social media posts - the times the subs wer...

Re: Away to Gillingham FA Cup
Talking of older Barrow FA Cup games is there any one on the forum who attended the Wolves, Southampton and Leicester games? If there is your memories of those occasions would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Gloucester City v Barrow match thread
Thought Adam Murray’s after match club interview was very impressive. Some Gloucester fan is trying to give him stick off mic and Adam says we need to pray for him he’s clearly very angry.

A bit harsh. Radio Cumbria might be amateurish at times but the passion that comes across the airwaves makes up for those short comings in my humble opinion.Burnage Bluebird wrote: ↑Tue Oct 20, 2026 8:27 pm First and hopfully last time for this Co commentator. Bloody awful.

Re: Away to Gillingham FA Cup
People need to check their heads in here. Beat Gloucester and then a team we beat away last year with a worse team and manager then we could draw a Championship side away in the Second Round. £££ Sorry to point it out Silverdale Bluebird but Championship sides come in at the 3rd round stage but thi...

Re: FA Cup Fourth Qualfying Round
Let’s hope you’ve not jinxed it, but that was certainly a horror show. Shaw Lane I’ve tried to forget about the Shaw Lane and FC United games. The Shaw Lane match was a classic in how not to broadcast. I was listening to the match and James Phillips was doing the commentary alongside Paul Casson. A...
