Re: Decisions being made

It's not whether we will be are promoted that worries me. IMO that's a certainty. More of a worry is how we are going to survive if the season doesn't start until much later in the year as we have a very high percentage of players on contract most of whom, I suspec,t the manager will want to keep (...

Re: Decisions being made

If NothernSoul were listening I'm sure he'd say what Phil Wallace wants or thinks at this point is not that relevant though good on him for keeping on trying. As we know the matter is now the subject of a formal EFL regulation proposal involving all 71 clubs. As such the issue of relegation from L2...

Re: Barrow in the cup

Think it was Bobby Chapman but memory might be a struggle Think you might be right. The reason I picked on Hennesey was that I can remember him targeting Mulvaney and my father calling him amongst other things a dirty bald welsh tw*t. Mulvaney eventually lost his cool. I think it was Chapman. Some ...

Re: Barrow in the cup

One I remember at home to Notts Forest in 1969 in League cup . We gave them a close run but got beat 2-1 they had few internationals Terry Hennessey was one i remember That was a heck of a game and despite the narrow loss ranks as one of our better performances. I think Forest were the equivalent o...

Re: Decisions being made

Stevenage owner Phil Wallace now suggesting should be no relegation from EFL this year and instead should be 3 down/3 up from next season........as if League Two clubs would agree to that If NothernSoul were listening I'm sure he'd say what Phil Wallace wants or thinks at this point is not that rel...

Re: Decisions being made

There isn't going to be any football until there is - and how, in what form we don't know. So this thread is 93 pages of people farting. All football supporters like to blow off, you should know that Shaun. As a matter of interest I know of at least two other club forums that have recently quoted a...

Re: Decisions being made

Do the seasons all still need to be finished by July 31st or not anymore? Longer this vote goes on the tighter time would get to have this season finished and ready for next season From a football perspective I dont think it matters as long as changes to dates are FA sanctioned. From a commercial p...

Re: Decisions being made

Peterborough United (or rather their majority shareholder) have threatened to sue anybody that votes for a curtailment in L1 and have demanded that each L1 member make public their vote just so that they can see who their enemies are. If this was meant to intimidate it seems to have backfired as sev...

Re: Decisions being made

At the moment there are no dates for any Leagues to start next season. Until the Premier League and possibly the Championship restart, you wont have a predicted finish date and you cant have a projected new season start date that's worth anything anywhere. If all goes to plan my guess would be that ...

Re: Decisions being made

EFL clubs have until the 1st of June to email in their votes The vote needs a 51% majority (36/71) clubs BUT out of that 36 13 of them HAVE to be championship clubs. If the championship doesn’t vote in a 51% majority in favour of the framework the EFL put forward then it gets thrown out Further to ...

Re: Decisions being made

Yesterday's Blackpool Gazzette. Club by club analysis of the L1 positions on Curtailing or resuming season. Interesting read and doesn't look a million miles off. Suggestion is a majority to curtail of somewhere between 15 to 8 with worst case 13 to 10. Certainly no walkover. ttps://www.blackpoolgaz...

Re: Decisions being made

Little has been spoken of the current consensus amongst Championship clubs as most of the noise has come from League 1. Clearly the position of the Championship is currently that it plays on and seems to be making steps in the right direction to try and do so. Hull came out moaning about wanting to ...

Re: Decisions being made

Economics ,lack of income plus lots have clubs have stated they are struggling financially. There will be alot of clubs living hand to mouth . I think even before this crisis there was the obvious one - Macclesfield but throw into the mix Carlisle, Oldham, Morecambe plus others now such as Stevenag...

Re: Decisions being made

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/52783024 Wimbledon were one of the sides quoted as coming straight out of Friday's EFL meeting and announcing publicly that they were voting to end the L1 season. Given their position just above Tranmere perhaps not surprising. Interesting language being used by...

Re: Scott Quigley and John Rooney - best bits

When you line them up they look really good. Quigley is a fantastic finisher from just about anywhere in the box, clinical, powerful and accurate. Rooney is just instinctive and explosive. You could not envisage a more potent combination. And that's without the whippet like pace of Angus. Its a grea...
