Re: Decisions being made

The legal case stuff is interesting. Ultimately the leagues are members organisations and the members are the clubs. So In effect, a club would a club be suing itself ? Especially if it is done on a one club one vote system.

Re: Decisions being made

I like the idea of the promotion no relegation idea which will mean 22 clubs in the PL. Problem is how do you reduce that in 2021/22. I cannot see PL clubs voting for 5 teams or even 4 teams relegated. Likewise the same to balance the Championship will mean 6 teams relegated the year after and so on.

Re: Decisions being made

Why wouldn’t mid table sides vote for PpG if it means they are safe regardless?

Sorting prize money might be an interesting conversation - if null and void means no prize money or it means prize money is split equally then that will impact voting.

Re: Worst player ever to play for Barrow ...

Blundell did a job. Work rate was very good. I think with this it's often the bigger rep the bigger disapointment. Jason 'best player in the north east' Ainsley for example. Or the lad Rowlands? Who'll be good when the pitches are bad etc etc. I think Grimes came with a good rep. So did the welsh la...

Re: Rare Barrow Shirt

Was a strange year for shirts that. Think we started with a blue and white icis one... can’t remember the sponsor. Then for some reason it went to the white and black one half way thru.

Re: boreham wood v barrow match thread

That’s a great result away from home against a team in the same form ourselves over the last 5 games. Take that. Even better the others losing. No one can get a run going on us.

Like this team more and more. Steely when needs to be classy when we can

And since the first 10 games of the season we are averaging 2.5pts per game which is just ridiculous.

Alan Martin was a phenomenal keeper. How he never made it to the top I don't know.

Was he at Leeds when he came to us on loan?

Bully definitely joined in Kenny Lowe era, probably 99/00.
I do remember him getting a bad one in a hammering though, but would have been 01/02 season I reckon.

Re: Players Trom The Past

Tommy Cahill was, I think, the only player Barrow ever signed from a Division One (now Premier League) side whilst still under contract to that club, in this case Newcastle United. Probably until we signed that keeper from Liverpool who we then sold to Rangers. That was a bit mad. Can't even rememb...

Ian Evatt is doing a good job as we sit comfortably in mid table. I ask the question, why over the years when we are starting to play well, get into a good league position do we have an obsession on here of assuming are manager is going to be poached ?
It's the reality of football.
