Massive credit to the board never in my 27 years of watching the club have I seen so much progression in such little time sorting out the steelworks end corner , getting the new bar built , crush barriers , roof going on at some point in the not to distant future , getting the dire bogs demolished , then on the merchandise side and plenty more. When Casson went I really thought we where going on a downwards spiral. Everyone is pushing the same way for potentially the first time in a long long time. The future is bright!
Be seeing you

Good luck with that then, knowing the speed the council take to approve applications, more so with the current virus situation.

We might not see a new roof for a few years then.
And, who knows if any objections have been raised from people over the road from the ground!-which could drag it out even more.

would the fact that they are replacing the roof that was there before with a similar profile roof not come into play? Also it would tidy the wall top up and look better. Also whilst the noise inside the ground would be amplified, the noise going over the wall to the houses would be somewhat dampened by the roof.
Bring it on!!!

The interior of the fanzone yesterday which now has all the trades such as plumbers & electricians working in there. The exterior has now also been wet dashed.

It’s looking like it’ll be a great addition to match days at HS.

We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Thanks for the update. Appreciated.

As you say, it should be an asset to the club with the added possibility (subject to planning permission constraints and parking constraints) of being an additional non-match day source of income.

What’s the idea capacity wise with the fanzone? Or is more a case of grab a beer and move outside?

Possibly. Plans show canopies on two sides IIRC with outdoor seating in addition.

Not really sure mate, it’s pretty confusing really because as it was started we all thought it looked quite small but strangely, as it’s moved along it seems to have more floor space than we originally thought. Capacity I suppose will depend on whether there’s a shed load of sit down tables or just places to lean and have a chat.
There is still the canopy cover to wrap around it so on decent days there’ll be more space to sit in the sun.

Thanks for the update. Is this canopy cover going to be sturdy enough to endure balls landing on it on a fairly regular basis? The amount of balls that land in this area of the ground especially whilst they warm up is huge that's my worry. Don't want it ruining within months due to stray shots!!!!!

What about seagull poop, how many kilos will the roof support?
