Scott Quigley and John Rooney - best bits

Post by Bakewell Blue »

With nothing much better to do, I find myself watching YouTube clips of Barrow matches every day (its been a great season for that, plus matches from last season, such as 3-2 against both Salford and Chesterfield). I found these this week - really good clips of the best bits of 2 of our stars this year:

I don't know who CSN are, but thanks!

Enjoy ….

When you line them up they look really good. Quigley is a fantastic finisher from just about anywhere in the box, clinical, powerful and accurate. Rooney is just instinctive and explosive. You could not envisage a more potent combination. And that's without the whippet like pace of Angus.

Its a great reminder in case others tell you otherwise that we have been the real deal in this division this season.

And you read other fans comments about Quigley being a cart horse and poor finisher....

Some classy well worked goals there.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

I recall Wrexham fans scoffing at the 3 year contract Quigley was offered, reckoning we'd be lucky to get half a season out of him.
It all comes 'round again.

I remember that also Nigel and thought at the time, Mmmm! why would Evo do such a silly thing 😂😂
Considering it takes half a gallon of saliva just to pronounce place names in Wales, I ignored it.
