Not bad considering all the changes. Not sure this team will be strong enough to beat FC United on Saturday though.

7 of the 11 are in the first team squad so the team was strong on paper. Certainly should be strong enough to beat teams from 2 divisions lower!

Thank god there was no extra time! It was dreary, to be honest. Only really Dyson would be good enough to step into the first XI, and some of them really are just making up the numbers.

Atherton had a few chances, but it never really felt like a cup tie so there was never really any tension.

FC United will be a better test, but we'll need to field a few more first teamers if we want to win.

The team that played Ebbsfleet on Saturday would comfortably beat FC United. Only two of those players started tonight. Evatt will need to play a stronger team on Saturday if he wants to progress in the trophy. FC United are a good side.

Ian Evatt just said it will be a team similar to the one that beat Ebbsfleet 7-0 on Saturday that will be playing FC United this weekend.
Said with the postponements we have that players do not need a break.

It was freezing. Thank goodness there was no extra time and penalties.

Painful watch tonight in all honesty. Some are clearly are just making up the numbers and are way of getting into our starting eleven.

Hardcastle the stand out Dyson not far behind, the rest bang average at best. A couple should not be playing professional football.....

Harsh but honest.

Hope IE plays a stronger team Sat.

Louis Hardcastle thoroughly deserved his man of the match a top performance. Olly Dyson a good performance and good support from Granite and Brown. Would not like to comment on anything else.

Difference in tempo is massive when we change out the 3 CB's and 2 deeper midfielders. The ball moves so much slower and allows teams to set up correctly.

Was a very average match, Colls gave a reasonable account of themselves. Glad for the away fans it wasn't segregated. We shouldn't be doing it for a lot of our home games!

Last night's match once again demonstrated just how far this club has come. First the attendance, 861, that's only 200 fewer than came to our second home league game of the season against Eastleigh. Second the style of football, what impressed me most was even the so called fringe players were prepared to pass the ball around. Can you ever recall an occasion that happened during the Edmundson and Cox's eras when the number one priority always seemed to be let's hoof the ball into the opponents half. Thirdly I thought some of the players who don't normally get in the starting squad acquitted themselves well. I thought Matt Elsdon looked solid. Fourth the financial implications, last night's win brought in £4500 in prize money, another match, with hopefully a crowd of more than a thousand and the opportunity to bank a further £5,250. The only downside to the evening Josh Granite was forced off injured and Lewis Hardcastle got booked I don't know how close he is to a suspension but otherwise a great night all round.
