You no longer go to watch Barrow yet you are on a Barrow fans forum commenting on something you dont take time out to attend & support!!!

That's not having a go but I just can't get my head around the logic.

Oh sorry, i forgot you can't support a team unless you watch them all the time.

How inconsiderate of me to have a job and a life outside of a sport.

Correct, you can follow a team from afar, however by making an effort to stay away, your one of the contributors to it's demise. FACT.

Whilst you cant argue that apathy is playing a huge part in the attendances so far this season I think comments like this are hugely damaging to the club. I started supporting the team some 18 years ago and, other than a few years I was at uni, you can count the home games iv missed on one hand. My mates that go with me have mostly got low paid jobs and familys to support yet we shell out £14 every other week to support our team, not because we’re obliged to but because its our choice. If the board genuinely want to see more people through the gates they have to sell what they’re offering, not make threats in the media. The club are at the pinnacle of success since iv been watching them (I never dreamed of so many consecutive seasons at the top of non-league when I first started coming!) yet iv never felt so apathetic about the club and im afraid this is down to the board. Im fed up of the secrecy and relying on those in the know to pass on half truths, im fed up of getting wet every time it rains during a match and the state of the toilets and im really fed up of being told its ‘our’ fault!
I work in a school and see kids everyday that love football yet only a tiny fraction come to support their local team and if im honest I cant blame them. We’ve already wasted a generation of future supporters and unless the board actually engage them then that isn’t going to change by itself so I respectfully suggest to Mr Keen that he actually does something pro active rather than snipe at the public that do make the effort.
Right rant over, im getting ready for the match. I just want to echo what Walney rock said, at the end of the day it’s the fans who make a club and it’s the fans that will pick up the pieces if it does all go wrong so lay off us!

How is working, making an effort to stay away anyway? Or for many people not being able to afford to go? Please explain this.

Re attendance:

Get Green's meat & potato pies in I would suggest. Your Hairy Biker made a great promotional killing for them in a recent TV programme. Always take away a few when I visit.

PS. Wish we had the Green's pies down here on offer at half time.

Started watching Barrow about 8-10 years ago, til nearly every home game and few away about 4 years ago... Why? Cos' I was bored with Sky football, all the business, all the inside stuff, the money... Football always came last. But at Barrow, you turned up and had a crack with your mates and tbh the football the last 5 years has been great, true spirit. But i don't like the way the club has been throwing itself the last few years. Over and over they say 'Family club' ect... The one last taste of anti-modern football WANTS modern football and that for me is the downfall. Barrow is, always has been and always will be a rough arse working-class town... And thats brilliant, it truly is! Makes it what it is. If they cater towards that (As they have done in the past!) then people will want it. £14 doesn't just buy you the football now, it buys you the rumours and business news and more... Don't want that. I understand Barrow is a members club, but Joe public doesn't care about that (If he actually knows).

Nowhere do you mention work as an excuse, your mistake not mine.

The FACT is if more people stop attending because of the original excuse/reasons given, the club will fold. FACT

No support= no club, not too hard to understand is it!
