Re: Missing
What a load if nonsense. I posted a factual account of a frankly embarrassing to witness episode by a member of the board, it wasn't the only foolish think a board member has done today. They need to realise the club is a business and we are customers. I offered my help today and it was laughable what was said. We need a fresh approach as this "we saved the club" crap is irrelevant if they kill us off, like saving a dying child just to murder him in his sleep a few years later if you will.

Unless something has been added to it since I last saw it, there was nothing untoward in it.
No idea but will discuss why in mods forum

From what I have heard, he and others made quite the fool of themselves today Neil.whitty1969 wrote:Probably gone because it was well out of order. Have a word with yourselfs !!!!!!

I know you want to see good in people but if they're out of line, people have the right to comment on a messageboard set up specifically to allow folk to discuss all things Barrow AFC.

Re: Missing
To be fair, whilst the board member in question did undoubtedly make some foolish remarks today he was put in a difficult position. Being more or less surrounded by anything from 5-10 people at any given time all wanting to chip in.Reg wrote:From what I have heard, he and others made quite the fool of themselves today Neil.
I haven't always been his biggest fan but fairs fair, lets keep it in perspective.
Re: Missing
I'm not losing perspective.
People who I don't believe go out of their way to exaggerate have indicated that there has been some silliness today.
As I have said in the thread Stu started, the BOD are under max pressure now and it doesn't seem like they're handling it too well.
There haven't been any hysterics from what I have seen, so I don't really understand the perspective comment.

Re: Missing
There isn't anyone connected to this club who put's in more time & effort than John Mackay & I'll throw down the challenge to those who think he was in the wrong today & can do better to put themselves up for election to the Board at the next AGM.
I'll bet a pound to a pinch of shit you won't.
He seem's to be the focal point for most people's frustrations at the moment becase he's always there in the front line & that's because he probably does more than almost anyone else at the club. He's a Board member, he supports the BDF & he's down at the club most Sundays painting, digging & doing whatever else it takes to keep this club going.
The Board do plenty wrong (& I've said that to a Board member today) but until someone who throw's the shit on here has the ball's to do something about it & step from behind their keyboard....accept it, or do something about it.
Same people all the time but when the AGM's come up, where are you?
Thing's do need to change without a doubt, but if you don't care enough to do something about it leave it to those who do, even if that's the way you don't agree with.

We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Is it true that the electric in club shop was turned off so that the floodlights could be turned on??
(definitely tongue in cheek that remark by the way!)need to laugh more on here.

Sorry Ian, but I can't agree with most of that.spirit of 1990 wrote:There isn't anyone connected to this club who put's in more time & effort than John Mackay & I'll throw down the challenge to those who think he was in the wrong today & can do better to put themselves up for election to the Board at the next AGM.

Just because people aren't doing anything about it (or more to the point don't know what to do about it) doesn't mean it should just be accepted.
Re: Missing
Nonsense. I offered to take on the sales role for advertising at no cost other than basically being authorised to do it and was told I'd have to sell ten spots at £350 on my own before anything happens officially, I also offered my business nous and banking experience but the subject was changed. Strikes me the board want an easy life with no mither and to pick up the cash from an odd cup run. We need a new board, simple as that. This joke has rolled on too long and anyone who thinks the shambolic business decisions and mistakes made year on year are anything short of idiotic then you are also a fool. I told McKay that lots of business walks out the door due to poor decision making at board level, he replied with "95% of posts on the forum are excited about this team and we have given Baylis a bigger budget than most at this level" at this point I wished I was a wukkie fan as at least then I'd also be so mentally deficient that the magnitude of the comments stupidity would have passed me by.
