Re: Ground maintenance area
It is imperative that something is done regarding the vaughan car park. Again this week the outer gate etc was smashed in but then the secondary fencing was smashed too, leaving everything wide open to just walk in. It was like that for a few days until today when I managed to put the outer ones in place to give some semblance of security from the outside.

Re: Ground maintenance area
I can pop down with you over the weekend sometime Mike, perhaps show you what we're after & you tell us what we need to do labouring wise - that'd be a start.olbarrafancumbak wrote:Ian, let me know when your around and lets see if we can get something done with the brickwork.
We're looking at all that now Andy & sometime this week we'll be buying a small jack-hammer type machine to do the footings in Vaughans car park, the new toilets & the pop side toilets. That'll then also come in for when we need it to repair terracing & put in the romovable segregation fencing.capman wrote:you need to put footings in for the walls as well it's a lot more work then then just Building a wall

Changing tack and back to the astro turf someone mentioned down the park...i met the manager last night and he showed me round the rolls that you can take away...however...each roll is 2mx20metres long and 4 men could not lift them or roll them out.......any ideas if we still want them

Re: Ground maintenance area
Whitty (older version) has sorted a brickie for us. I don't think the bloke is a BAFC supporter so it's a very nice gesture by him, all we have to do is get the foundations done. He said he'd complete one wall for us, so we'll still need at least two other walling job's doing by anyone else who can help out.
We bought another two battery drills yesterday (one would have done but they were on offer
) We also spent £150 on a concrete breaker, which we were going to hire, but as we have quite a few jobs coming up that we'll need one for we thought it'd be best to have one at hand whenever it's required.
This'll be used for the Vaughans car park foundations & the two new toilets in the same space, the new toilets on the pop side, repairing some of the crumbling terracing & we can also use it for our quick assemble (but temporary) segregation fencing.

Re: Ground maintenance area
My great news of the week is the fact that I have now made grown men recognise the function of the bin in the changing room.
Paddy Lacey has been nominated as changing room prefect and he can chose "drink bottle" monitors on a rota if he so wishes.
He actually ran out of the Xbar before the game such was his enthusiasm to get his new duties started.
I think the threat of sending them home with a letter to their mothers if things didn't improve did the trick.
A ten and three quarter hour stint on Friday cleaning, emptying bins around the ground etc drove me to take drastic action and they were the first hit.
We need an electrician if there's anyone can sort a dodgy socket as both Whitty's are unavailable now. Please.

It must have been to myself as I was on my own for most of the time. I was half hoping the trespassers would show up so I could scare them to death.Wintergreen wrote:Ten and three quarter hour shift H-bird? How can you natter for that length of time.

Re: Ground maintenance area
I thought on Saturday you both said you were busy with your jobs at home. Sorry if I misunderstood. Yes I will be there on Sunday if it gets the job done .It shouldn't take long as it just seems like a loose connection in the socket.
Thank you Whitty.

Could do with Klaus doing a spot of painting in the first aid room - Klaus
Be nice if we could get the HI-AB sorted, any chance T?
We'll keep hold of Whitty 64 while he's down there & seeing as they only seem to operate in pairs, there might be a good chance of the 69 version turning up as well!!
If the weather is fine, there's advertising boards to go back up, Steve, anyone?
The cladding could do with all the screws being finished off.
Loads to do in the GMA as well.
9:00am start, join the queue at turnstile "C"
