Cracking day out marred by 90 minutes of awful football from both sides. It really wasn't pretty and only the introduction of Mwasile and Cribley late on gave us any excitement at all.

Season is winding down and it really shows. Edmo is looking towards next season and can't say I blame him but our set up today showed a lack of any sort of width and highlighted weaknesses that we have in certain areas which I think he is well aware of. We have half a team that is worth keeping and a few others that would be good enough with some competition pushing them along

As Si said the football was virtually a non event today, first half we created next to nothing and rode our luck as a young Histon side looked to open the scoring. The second half we looked like we wanted to try and create an opening but just took the wrong options or failed to connect to some great crosses from Sam Sherridan. I am sure Edmo and meech have learned where our strengths and weaknesses are over the last six games, as we have failed to push on when it mattered most!! It's important that the team don't just let the remainder of the season just fizzle out and at least give us supporters hope and anticipation for what's to come next season.

Edmo sounded very disappointed with the team in his Radio C interview. I guess he will have learned who wants to be a winner even when nothing is at stake. Like triallists who are brilliant then fade once offered a contract, perhaps some of those he has spoken to about next season are easing off?

Think I'm right in saying if Gloucester get a point in their game today against Harrogate then Workington will be technically* relegated the next time they drop any points atall.

*As in consigned to a bottom 4 finish, but with a reprieve still possible due to Vauxhall resigning from the league at the end of the year.

Lack of effort against a team that are very poor had this game been a few weeks ago we probably would have won easily.

A horrible game to watch with two chances for us that their keeper saved well.

Looked like half the crowd were Barrow fans.

Debating going to the next two away games if the team cant be arsed why should the fans back them.

I hate to say it but the results really are taking on that end of season look now. It doesn't look too good coming away with a point at places like Histon who are close to being in the relegation places & apparently have let some of their more senior players go of late to ease their wage bill.
I think we really had the luck with us in that fantastic run (even now it's still been a great spell since Christmas) but we should have been putting teams like Histon & Vauxhall Motors away.
The team is probably four or five players away from challenging for next seasons play-offs & probably half a squad away from being in or around top spot.
If any are easing off because we're safe & the season is over I hope Edmo realises who they are & they don't get offered a new contract - we've had too much of that in the past.

I don't go to too many away games throughout a season but if I did I'd be thinking along the same lines as Chris & would'nt be wasting my money travelling away to watch players who seem to think they've done the hard work now. Of course I could be totally wrong & the players might just be running out of steam & not carrying that little bit of luck they were a month or two ago.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

All seemed very listless to me which is odd when you think these lads are playing for contracts, pay rises etc.

Gloucester won 5-2 against Harrogate.

Only 3 sides go down, as Vauxhall are resigning at the end of the season if they don't end up in the bottom 3 only 2 sides will go down. Workington have 18 points to play for and need 9 (10 with goal difference against them) to catch Histon 3rd from bottom. They looked like they might do it when they recorded back to back wins a while ago but they are not getting anything now and other sides are, so they will likely go down.

Barrow have now drawn more games than anyone else in the league 14 in total.

Nice to meet the poster Kendal bluebird. When they said they had traveled from Kendal to watch the game I asked if it was their Community Service penance but they told me they were following Barrow because their dad and granddad were Barrow fans. Shame it was such a poor game after making the effort to attend but welcome on board anyway.

According to their forum they reckon that only 2 go down?
