I wonder if I'm the only one who doesn't rate ARH? I don't think he accepts the level he's playing at now and just seems disinterested. If this takeover happens then I think we'd need to replace players in most positions. I'm not saying I wouldn't retain the ones I mention below but I think that for me, the standout players have been Burns, Reynolds, Sheridan and Rushton. IMO we could build a decent squad around those and possibly a few others. I think McMillan costs us a few points with bad judgment/mistakes, Edwards isn't the player he was a few years back and there's a couple more that just won't cut it in a team aspiring to get promoted. Whatever happens I have every confidence Edmo will get it right.
Steve Herbert supports the nob theory - Saturday 4th February 2012.

If this bus crashed and everybody on it died, Barrow football would end - Daz Boyle, Boston away, August 9th 2014.

A bizarre moment on Saturday with ARH on the treatment table and Sean Riley telling me off because of my comment on here that Alex had come back too soon after his injury (IMO). Sean on one side of the table me on the other GLARING and ARH just lay there with his eyes shut. Sean almost became his own patient.
I thought ARH put a good shift in on Saturday by the way.

I'm not his biggest fan, I do think there is a player there somewhere but personally I think he's someone that thinks he's better than he is, time will tell if he stays and if edmo can find a way to get the best out of him, jury is very much out of me

Another player who splits opinions as have Bolland, Logan, Ruthers etc in the past.

There's no doubt there's a good footballer in there but perhaps it's more down to the fact we (atm) can't afford to have luxury players in our teams, we need grafters, & all round utility players with the money we can lay out. He's never really had the opportunity to play alongside a step up in quality in a Barrow shirt. Perhaps if/when the takeover goes through & Edmo can start looking at some better quality players throughout the squad he might shine more consistantly.

Kenny Lowe for all his ability was never a grafter & looked awful when trying to tackle but was one of the most skilfull players we've had in recent times. And no, I'm not saying ARH is anywhere near as good as KL before I get slated for mentioning them in the same sentence.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

No coincidence we went to shit the season Bolland left. Best defender we had in the Conference by a distance.

NWEM web site seems to think that the 6 players have signed. Perhaps a mistake?

Boyes??!! Please no.

Skelton has apparently taken on a role with CUFC under 12s which would might prevent training on Tuesdays and Thursdays unless in Carlisle (where I believe Workington used to train - not sure about now/next season)

Bondy is still a Colchester player. He is only on loan at Chester. Still a very good chance he will be released though.

Correct me if I am wrong but I thought he had his contract terminated by mutual consent!

Your not the only one Eric, I don't rate him at all. Not good enough for the Conference Premier and not good enough for the Conference North.
Who does he think he is? All players want to play at a higher level. But putting in p*ss poor performances constantly wont get you anywhere.
Easy to sort this one. Edmo please release him !!!!!!

I stand corrected. I was misinformed by a neighbour who is an infrequent Chester fan.

Was ARH on the treatment table suffering from a really large ego? :P

Or is he having hallucinations, Bet he's been seeing himself putting a full shift in

Sorry Elaine, I couldn't resist

Well, the 5 players who are signed on for next season are: Burns, McMillan, Williams, Sheridan and Cowperthwaite. I think getting them to sign on was a good piece of business and despite my earlier comment about Williams, I agree with someone's statement of how he just needs some confidence and isn't too bad of a defender. But, moving on from on who we already have signed and so on...who do you think we should sign? Name players if you want, but I'm more so on about positions. Personally, I believe we need a real poaching-striking and some big bulky lad upfront too. McEvilly? ;) I believe having a strong midfield in this league is vital and we also need a solid centre back along with a new left back. Would love to see a few of the youthys play next season too! :scarf: :scarf:
