Re: Players
Jason recently bought a house in Ulverston I heard; would be a very good acquisition in my opinion. Jase I mean, not the house, although now is the time to invest in the property market with the price of the average UK – that’s far enough off topic – Mods.
We will foller the soccer, over land and sea...
Re: Players
We need to get some decent firepower up front. Amongst the lowest league scorers for too long and no mattter how much I wanted Arnison to repeat his goal scoring feats for Wukkie with us, I wasn't overly impressed with his performances. Far too lightweight. Would Jason Walker would drop down to this level and would he have the motivation? Saying that though he didn't half score some cracking goals for us.
"To achieve anything and to get to the Football League, we have to expect to win every game. I've got to get everyone believing that we can, and I will work hard to embed that mentality into the players, the town, the board and whoever else” Ian Evatt.

Re: Players
I don't get why a lot of people clamour for old faces to return. As good as he was/is, I hope that we can bring in some younger lads looking to work up through the leagues. A couple of experienced players always helps but I don't believe bringing back familiar faces is a guaranteed formula for success (what is?)...
Steve Herbert supports the nob theory - Saturday 4th February 2012.
If this bus crashed and everybody on it died, Barrow football would end - Daz Boyle, Boston away, August 9th 2014.

I'm not usually one for wanting old players back but I wouldn't say no to Andy Cook, just released by Cleethorpes Town.

I agree. Andy Cook, properly coached, with clear instructions. and paid on time, would get 20 plus goals at this level.

Re: Players
He wasn't too complimentary of Barrow when he left us & thought he was billy big bollox & had made it with Grimsby! Not bothered at all when players leave to try & better themselves but there are ways to do it.
Anyway, he obviously hasn't been lighting up non league football being released by Cleethorpes town has he?

We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Andy Cook was a sulky child and if we never saw him again I would be happy.barrowaberdeen wrote:I agree. Andy Cook, properly coached, with clear instructions. and paid on time, would get 20 plus goals at this level.

Re: Players
Cook and Boyes together seem to have been a lot better together than the sum of their parts. Neither made an impact this season.
The manager will surely be looking beyond next season in assessing potential signings. I liked Joe Jackson's endeavour and wish him well for the future.
