Gainsborough v Barrow Match Thread
Re: Gainsborough v Barrow Match Thread
I had way too much homebrew over the weekend (a praticularly good batch where I had "enhanced" the alcohol content). Out of the haze I do recall playing this multiple times - it seemed appropriate:

Sorry 'rule' is probably the wrong word.
Guidance from the FA back in my refereeing days was that 'the moment the shirt goes above the head' then it's a cautionable offence.
That would have been after Ravenelli's time though.
Nowadays I think if you have a slogan it's up to the competition to punish. If it's racist, political etc it will be more punishable than say 'Happy New Year'. But it's at their discretion. The ref will almost always give a yellow for it though and let the FA or whoever deal with it afterwards if it needs further review.

Re: Gainsborough v Barrow Match Thread
Another strange thing on Saturday was the sight of the teams entering the pitch from separate tunnels at either end of the stand. Our team came on in front of the home dugout and Gainsborough from in front of the away dugout.
It was hilarious to see Simon Grand peering round to see where the other team was with the referee walking back and forth to make sure they were both ready to walk on. What a palaver.
They then did the photo call so it could be placed on the website where all clubs were asked to commemorate the famous WW1 football match.

Yes Pilks played in hole behind Cook ,Ellison generally on left, both effective and think McWilliams benefitted as he had good game and overlapped a lot.

Money talks so there's nothing incredible about the team's improvement. The incredible thing was having a rich ex-Barrovian who wanted to buy the club! In terms of on the pitch, I would say that getting to safety last season from being bottom was much more incredible than being at the top now.Barrow_in_Bochum wrote:Just think back how thiks were looking 12 months ago.

Grand misses the Gloucester game.
Livesey misses the Boston game.

Re: Gainsborough v Barrow Match Thread
Don't think Livesey is due a suspension yet Chadders, only three bookings I think! ARH is only one yellow away from a suspension though. Although it may now be quashed according to this, as I understand it if you haven't picked up five bookings by the 30th Nov it moves onto ten booking before a suspension. Or have I got it wrongChadders wrote:Grand misses the Gloucester game.
