No safety visor! We'll be prosecuted by the Hse as if we aren't in enough trouble!

Re: Ground Maintenance Area
On a cold damp morning at short notice , it turned out to be quite a productive session. Peter our litter picker tidied the whole ground up from the Bradford game and saved the club a huge amount of time.
Ian and I started to put the storm damaged downspout back on the west terrace side of the stand. Managed to get the first 2 sections back in place, and figured out a way to get the last bit next visit to link into the stand roof guttering. This again will save the club a chunk of money as we received a few quotes for this recently. In the warmth of the workshop, Ian our joiner was making sure all the door jamb joints were fitting together before sanding and glossing the door that goes with them. This will be the new turnstile C door which needs fully replacing again at the west terrace end of the main stand and will be done soon. Also the remaining battens of wood have been delivered to complete one of our fall back jobs now the pressbox, and this will progress next visit.
The club recently completed the wall to vaughans car park after we dug out the footings last year and this has ehnhanced security at the stadium now as well as a range of options for inside that area.

Re: Ground Maintenance Area
Nice to get an e-mail off the club (Steve Patton) last week thanking those involved in cleaning the ground up. For the record it was Biggest Fans (Peter F)
The quick unscheduled visit today was to knock up a small stage at the request of the club for the presentations in a couple of weeks as it's normally chaos with no-one seeing who is getting what. With the limited time involved I think it went quite well.......now we've just got to get it up there!!!
I can also confirm Barrowaberdeen is still in training as he popped his head in while out on his ten mile Sunday walk to see what was going on. Apparently building stages doesn't work as well as walking for losing weight - so off he toddled.
BTW Steve, you seriously do look like you've lost a fair amount, well done mate.

We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Re: Ground Maintenance Area
Short notice I realise, but is anyone available to help us carry the stage that we've built for the presentations tomorrow up to the Cross Bar at about 5:15 today?
Should take no more than half an hour....well it has to really as PC will be having his meeting at 6:00

Oh God it will go up there without taking out a window I hope. Is it all in one piece or in two halves?
It's informal so he might not be on stage.

It's not for tonight's meeting Elaine, more for the presentations tomorrow that it's been asked for.Holkerbird wrote:Oh God it will go up there without taking out a window I hope. Is it all in one piece or in two halves?

Re: Ground Maintenance Area
Thanks Elaine, decent turnout at short notice so thanks to Mrsenario, IRVJ, Frazer, Whitty 1969 with an offer (but not needed) off Exile. It was quite heavy and I think the new stadium will be built around it!Holkerbird wrote:I have asked for help on facebook. It might get a response Ian. Told anyone to be there for 5-30pm

Re: Ground Maintenance Area
Would anyone be available to give us a hand tomorrow afternoon for half an hour? probably from 1:00pm. We need to get the stage out of the way & back into the GMA but it's a bit of a lump.
Could do with another two or three pairs of hands really.

Re: Ground Maintenance Area
Suggestion, cut it in half then add a couple of latches, half the bulk to move around, As I say just an idea seeing how awkward it is etc.
