Not that surprising, really. The lads did well and should be applauded for winning the title but the football - at times - was shocking! :(
Wouldn' t have 'cut the mustard' a league above.

WINGERS Andy Haworth and Dan Pilkington, plus versatile defender Niall Cowperthwaite will enter into contract talks with Barrow AFC.

The Bluebirds want the trio to be part of their Vanarama National League squad next season after boss Darren Edmondson held talks with the players yesterday.

Haworth – who was on loan at AFC from Cheltenham in the second half of last season before being released by the Robins – Pilkington and Cowperthwaite have yet to be offered terms and therefore the length of any proposed deals is not yet known.

Meanwhile, Edmondson is involved in ongoing discussions with striker Lewis Guy over a potential future deal, although that situation appears less clear at this stage.

Another forward, Marcus Carver, who was on loan at Barrow from Accrington, is on a list of potential forward targets.

He has been offered a new deal by Accrington and would therefore command a compensation fee, while Edmondson will also monitor other strikers that come on to the market.
Popular side since '03.

Quite like Carver but not sure he will be worth shelling out a fee for. Id like to see Guy, Howarth, Pilks and Cowps all retained.

Can't see any logic in keeping Guy or Carver when they spend most of their time on the bench in Conf North and don't even come on very much. I would have thought Sheridan and Burns were much better options as squad players.

I thought Guy was a good addition to the squad and inputted a fair amount.

Sad to see Sheridan go but I suspect it has more to do with him being injury prone over this last season. When he returned he was not used as much as expected, I would ask did he actually fully recover? A good player, some good goals, good memories, all the best Sam.

Andy Burns is a great lad gave everything and appreciate what he did for us. Got skinned far too often for large parts of this season but kept going didn't give up, often managed to recover a situation, an attitude that supporters like to see. Possibly a step up might be a bit much, it will be very unforgiving in the National League. Well done Andy title medal well deserved.

Gorman promised much but was a bit disappointing. Didn't really get used a lot when we signed the much better Howarth as cover, Pilks and eventually Reid returning from injury put paid to any chances he had. Hope you have better opportunities elsewhere, thanks.

Karl Ledsham came in at the right moment and scored 2 vital goals at Hyde that kept us ticking over, had we lost that game confidence could have disappeared and promotion lost. Thanks.

+1

Fast and great at creating chances. I would be happy if he was retained.
