So Phil, are these the same stewards (or nightclub bouncers as some other fans - notably Grimsby have described) that made up lies looking for an excuse not to let Barrow supporters into the ground?FGR Fan wrote:The stewards have all the info, they'll provide fair unbiased facts to the club which should sort anything out if needed.
Forest Green v Barrow match thread

Popular side since '03.
Re: Forest Green v Barrow match thread
Firstly I'm not "Phil"
Secondly, our stewards are decent lads who are there to do an honest job, and as for these so called "lies" where is your proof? It's basically a few yobs words against the stewards, who would you believe?
Our stewards acted sensibly and calmly throughout the game from what I could see.

Re: Forest Green v Barrow match thread
These will be the same stewards that made up false allegations and lies about us?
Saying that our bus driver had said we were a bunch of animals when he never said anything of the sort?
Saying that we'd been damaging property and causing trouble in Nailsworth when this wasn't the case and used these lies to say they weren't letting us into the ground?
Why were home fans waiting directly outside the away fans exit in the first place and not moved on by the stewards? It was blatantly obvious they were stood there to try and cause trouble with Barrow fans leaving the ground and the stewards were happy to just let it happen.

That Phi mitchell on your forum sounds like he is ready to come up and fight the whole town by his comment on your forum.FGR Fan wrote:So I'm not likely to be able to travel up to your place but if I do I can assure you that although small in number, we're one of the nicest most respectful set of supporters you'll meet.

For that reason I hope we segregate you, Don't allow you access to our bar and I hope it rains for 90 minutes.

I was sat in the stand with Ron who is elderly and we had no problem getting in the stand.Steelworks End wrote:So friendly that one of our supporters, who needs to sit because of health reasons, was sitting by himself in the stand like Johnny-no-mates because people who could stand were not allowed to join him.FGR Fan wrote: We're a friendly club.
The only beef I had was when I had to surrender the top off my water bottle. Have only had to do that once before at Kettering, the first season we were promoted. I asked the the FGR steward to keep it safe and return it to me at the end of the game which they did.

Is Nailsworth the town out of the film Hot Fuzz? #thegreatergoodZak wrote:This sums up your frame of mind.FGR Fan wrote:The stewards have all the info, they'll provide fair unbiased facts to the club which should sort anything out if needed.
Re: Forest Green v Barrow match thread
Acted like what though? This is getting ridiculous and I'm genuinely baffled as to what you think any Barrow fans did "all day" that was so bad? There was a fair bit of anger directed towards the referee which is what you can see on the highlights, but that was certainly nothing out of the ordinary and the same would've happened with any set of fans in the country.FGR Fan wrote: If some of you hadn't acted like you did all day, there would have been no trouble.
That was it, and other than a bit of good natured singing in the pub in town there was nothing more. I'm absolutely astounded that a club that has been at this level for so long has got their knickers in a twist over that, surely you've seen much much worse from opposition fans because I know I have!
This Phil Mitchell bloke comes across as a complete moron too, he gave up any chance of credibility he had within about the first 2 lines of his opening post on the topic. I wasn't close enough to the incident to have seen what happened, but I'm in absolutely no doubt whatsoever as to who's version of events I believe.

Totally unavoidable ball to hand by Livesey, well captured by the young Dodster! No such excuses for Williams though who up until then was having a decent game. Some of our defending is shambolic at times.

Is this the same Forest Green stewards who forcibly ejected a Grimsby fan for waving an inflatable toy around, then pressed charges against him for assault?

Re: Forest Green v Barrow match thread
I was at the game saw no trouble we got abuse off some Forest Green fans after the game but thats normal banter which was returned back,But how many fans from other clubs have you seen shouting abuse at opposition players and match officials and running upto the fence to shout the abuse during a game, its football even happens in Rugby and that supposed to be crowd trouble free,in fact its passion not trouble wrong word used there.
Its seems like the Forest Green fan want's to come to Barrow and cause trouble easy solution ban away fans from Holker St for the home fixture, its not as if they would bring a lot of fans anyway,as it was such a poor attendance on Saturday for a club doing so well.
Have to say though the Forest Green fans who boarded the bus with us after the game going back to Stroud where as good as gold.

There is more chance of Grant Mitchell turning up to Holker Street than there is of Forest Green hippys causing trouble in Barrow
