Even at 1-0 down, even up until an hour gone I could only see Barrow winning it - problem is, it looked like the players thought it would be easy too. As soon as that second went in (looked a massive clanger from Dixon to me, but could be wrong), then everything just went. That's when it turned into Livesey just knocking it down the channel to see if anyone could chase it.
He's gone from scapegoat to forum fave, but Cowps gave a lot away today and usually in dangerous areas.

Aldershot were the best team that've been here, but they didn't offer a lot aside from the goals. There were no sustained spells of pressure. Beckles at the back for them though was a beast.

Haworth our best player today.
A draw would've been fair.
a draw would of been a fair result? Are u having a laugh.2 nd best all round, well beaten
If you thought that they were coming away with anything more than a draw at half time, then you must be Mystic Meg. They offered very little, just sat back.
It was only when they nabbed a second did they step it up.

Newby was walking to Asda before the match :x

What a difference from Tuesday night, absolutely awful. Grand, Williams, cowps, Lacey, symington, mellow, fofana for a start not good enough out of this team imo and Haworth, livesey show good and bad. We're [SwearFilter] then :(

It's not about making one player the scapegoat there's plenty that are poor collectively.
everyone is entitled to their opinion, deal with it

FWIW, I thought both Grand and Livesey had solid games today. There were far worse out there playing for us today.

Really??? anything other than three points to Aldershot would've been a travesty.

We were so poor compared to Tuesday it makes you wonder what can happen in the space of four days that justifies that sort of performance!
If Pilks wasn't injured why the [SwearFilter] was he taken off, if he was injured, why wait till the start of the second half to take him off? unless he got a knock in the first half - just seems odd.
1-3 down and we bring Wilson on with eight minutes to play and then we take our top scorer off was ridiculous, take one of your defensive midfielders off and at least give it a go. Humping long balls to our forwards when they had a player like (cant remember his name,) clearing everything just DID not make sense.
Very poor tactics, very, very poor display and a team & manager who look like they've been found wanting.

Someone said it looks like PC isn't getting his monies worth with this team and they're 100% right, is that down to players or management?

Another chance to impress 1500 people and as we have done for years....we blow it.

Aldershot well worth their three points.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Good News: Great to see Ant Wilson back.

Bad News: Generally speaking, I go to every home game. If we were in Premier League I would be there, if we were in the NW Counties League I would be there. All I want is to see is a bit of endeavour and a team trying to play its football on the grass using skill and guile to overcome the opponents – that’s not too much to ask now is it?

Thought for the Day: Was it Einstein or Paul Casson who said idiocy was repeating the same experiment time and time again and expecting a different result?
We will foller the soccer, over land and sea...

As good as we were on Tuesday we were the complete opposite today. However,Aldershot are a far better team than Lincoln. They dealt with us quite easily and were worth the three points. No stand out performances from us which is not good enough. It looks like Pilks has picked up another injury which is a shame as he is an important cog in the machine.NWA received a warm round of applause from both fans on being subbed. We realise what a great job he did for us on loan from Preston.Roll on Tues for Macclesfield.

Rubbish performance in front of decent crowd.Too slow bereft of ideas and not enough ball possession too much head tennis again.Aldershot not good team but we made them look it.Symington today was crap and cost us.Williams and Ashton played well.Grand a shadow of last season at moment.Pilkington off injured again not a good day.

Aldershot well worth their three points.
Yes really - we had double the amount of shots (16 to their 8) and spent most of the first hour in their final third.
It was after Pilks went off injured that things changed, and then we went long ball for some reason.

Heard some proper stupid shouts from Barrow fans today. Worst was leaving the ground and some bloke said to his lad "You could tell when Wilson came on that he was head and shoulders above Cookie". That's what we're dealing with.

No complaints, Aldershot deserved the points. However, that’s not because they were anything special but more because, collectively, we were way off the pace today and there was nothing like the intensity we displayed against Eastleigh and Lincoln. Dreadful second half (though we weren’t great in the first half either).

Have I missed something concerning Mellor? Is he injured? True, he was poor in his first few matches but having shone against Eastleigh how come he has disappeared off the radar, not even finding a place on the bench? Is there something going on behind the scenes that we are not being told about?

Is that PC’s last match before he heads back to Texas? If so, having been lucky recently in seeing a purple patch from us he will now have something to ponder because that second half was definitely not acceptable.

Very poor performance from Barrow.
Team definitely do not function as a unit imo and fail to see what so called full time training is bringing to the team as we don't seem to be able to string passes together, try anything new from set pieces etc.
We are virtually playing with same players as last seasons team and we weren't really playing decent football then so just a continuation but against teams that are a bit better.
Spoke to PC last week he said we would see big change before end Sept.?????Wont hold my breath :(
We seem to have signed very little in way of better players that have made a difference or perhaps the management are not up to the task of bringing out the best in them.
An odd game were we give a decent performance is not going to be good enough..........

Yeah - I also read a post that a draw would have been a fair result today

Hey look, I'm honestly quite positive when it comes to anything BAFC but if you thought we were worth a draw there then you were probably (very much) in a minority. We were very ordinary and deserved nothing - which is exactly what we got.
I agree with you about some of the comments that are made, I heard a bloke shout to JW on Tuesday "pull your finger out Walker" when virtually everyone on here thought he'd had a cracking game.

BTW, did we really have 16 shot's?
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Maybe some of our hoofs from the back that end up going out of play or landing with keeper are counted as shots ?
