Bullet Edmo and bring in them two Army lads from Salford

Yeah – I hope PC has been watching that televised Salford stuff and learning a thing or two. We have played long ball for 18 months and are very easy to work out, we have no problem solving capability and no other way of playing. Edmo needed to be made seriously aware that things could not continue in such a fashion indefinitely. The owner did that in no uncertain terms and gave him a chance; we have seen what he has made of that chance, sadly.

Those key points for improvement were naive in the extreme and looked like something somebody off The Apprentice might cobble together to give Siralan the impression that they were a whizz kid whereas in reality they are clueless about business strategy and are just trying to bluff their way through.

Hindsight is a marvellous thing of course but I think PC could have done worse than asking Tony Keen to run things for him. Maybe he did and was turned down I don’t know, either way the team he has installed to run the club have been woeful and have not moved the club on one jot that I can see.

My worry is.

Our owner clearly doesn't have a vast footballing knowledge and is definately still a rookie when it comes to running a football club.
What kind of person will he bring in? and Will he be related to him?

The guys who run Fleetwood and AFC Fylde aren't footballing gurus. Are they?

No but they know how to mastermind promotion after promotion and both of those clubs are well set up for the future and have very bright futures on the field and more importantly off it as well.

For what its worth,though obviously there is no vacancy at present,if Edmo were to go I think we need someone a bit more abrasive. Edmo has come accross as a little too easy going and some players are taking advantage. Three who might fit that bill with a number of tangles with authority/ego-tripping players in the past.
Gary Flitcroft -Succesful at Chorley who have struggled since he left to pursue business interests. Might be tempted by return to full-time game
Richard Money - Won promotion with Walsall,Luton and Cambridge who sacked him last week after an indifferent start with a squad full of close-season signings.
Jim Gannon- Split opinion at Stockport. A legend with some,responsible for their downfall by others (financial troubles blamed by former). Now at Northwich where he is masterminding the resurgence of the nomadic side now back on their home patch(Sharing with Witton). Still in the FA Cup and third in their league four games in hand on rivals.
As I've said I hope Edmo can change and turn it round but things are looking bleak atthe moment.

I truly believe EDMO doesn't know how to change it. I feel he still believes these players are good enough and will eventually blossom. He's convinced himself we are beset by bad luck and rubbish referees. He really can't see what everyone else seems able to see that we need some quality, experience and leadership on the pitch.

If our plan is to get promoted in the future we need a manager who is experienced and has managed both at this level and the football league OR a very experienced player manager with the same experience. IMHO

The highlights from Guiseley were woeful. Poor defending due to lack of midfield and little pockets of good football but nothing linked together. It was like 2/3 groups of lads on the pitch not realising they were actually playing together in a team.

Finally a little sympathy for EDMO some of the attempted finishing was awful.

Come on you bluebirds we've had much worse in the past.

no but fleetwood spent £100,000 on vardy and £20,000 on mcnulty so they went for it ,if we are serious about going up we NEED a couple of stellar signings or just hope to reach the lottery of the play-offs.

The way this is all going i`ll be quite happy to stay up,the whole thing is a disaster,i`m with a former member of this forum i hope we pick the right guy,but not then back him,back him again and then give him a month to turn things around ,we have to be decisive if we are to achieve anything.

Link if anyone wants it, within the first 2 mins of the highlights we have 2 clearcut chances, symo and haworth, should have been 2-1 up, missed chances may cost Edmo his job.

just watched the guisley highlights and kind of feel sorry for edmo after I did! Dixon could do with a rest quite like him but conceding far too many goals can't be good for him and imo should have done better for all 3 goals , 2 shocking misses at 1 down Symington and Haworth's especially was dreadfull ! really should have been winning by then , mellor 2nd yellow was just plain stupid when already on a yellow and nwa? red was an awfull challenge ! all above were out of edmos hands ! granted things not great at the mo but just wanted to stay up this year and move on which I think we'll do(just}

From what I recall, the BBC stats showed 50/50 possession, Barrow something like 14 shots, 2 on target, Guiseley 16 shots and 6 on target. That seems to be the story every week - same or more possession, same or almost the same chances, fewer shots on target. Perhaps training should be shooting practice

If you notice, a very high percentage of non-league games on the BBC finish 50-50. They don't have anyone at the games to measure that, so that's just the default figure.

Another few stats that were true a week ago: Barrow have had the most shots off target, hit the woodwork the most times, and Cook had the most shots off target too.
