Taunton v Barrow FA Cup game

I know Taunton are run by volunteers and the game is two weeks away but what is the hold up with announcing ticket details etc

Don't panic- I doubt it will be a sell out- I can't see Barrow taking more than 120 and Tauntons crowd won't double for a game against Barrow.

15% of their ground capacity would be 375 but there's an issue with segregation (there doesn't seem to be any?) and lack of turnstiles which complicates things plus I don't know how it will work with seating for away fans bearing in mind the segregation issue. Guessing Taunton are having to work out how to segregate people and where and this may also mean the capacity has to be reduced slightly? I'd assume this may be what's causing the delay in deciding how may tickets we'll actually get so we could end up with less than 375.

Brilliant to hear two buses should be going from Barrow. Even with 200 there should be no problem with tickets with a capacity of 2500. Didn't we have about 200 travelling when we played Salisbury in the Trophy semi at Salisbury in 2010. Similar distance from Barrow, similar importance?

They got 1282 in last round.
More away fans and more interest this time. Going to be chaos. One turnstile.
Won't sell out though due to being greedy and increasing the entrance fee, but if it does then there's a chance people could travel all from Barrow and not get in. (I would be going over the wall)

Absolutely, yes. It's immoral, in my opinion, regardless of who we're playing. I appreciate that making money is vital, especially for smaller clubs, but ripping off loyal supporters is not the way to go about it.

It's impossible to tell accurately from just Twitter, of course, but looking at their feed, I get the impression there's huge interest about this match in Taunton, which is in fact a bigger town than Barrow in terms of population, so the potential for a huge crowd is there. I think this is going to sell out and I think Taunton Town think it's going to sell out. Which is obviously why they've raised the price. It almost goes without saying that it maximises revenue (why have 2,500 folks paying £8 when you can have 2,500 folks paying £15?), but also disincentivises the more marginally interested and reduces the possibility of having hordes left standing outside and the resulting unpleasantness that might arise from that.

I would imagine that they've consulted with the Barrow board and that they had some input into this price too.
