Re: Clueless stewards barring innocent fans
It is the inconsistency and the way home and away fans are treated. I was watching the National League highlights show and saw after Lincoln scored the winner at FGR some fans on the pitch celebrating with the players - had that been Barrow fans it would be splashed over the front page of the Evening Mail with bans being handed out. The way the club treats the fans isn't good - the facilities are poor / catering very poor and now fans being turned away and spoken to like shit.
I like everyone else wants the club to be successful but we don't do ourselves any favours.
I don't have a problem with away fans on the holker street end, lets face it as soon as it starts to rain everyone [SwearFilter] off the the wilkie stand.

the current segregation does work and the taunton replay wasn't segregated hence the pushing and shoving although I didn't see anyThe Tomahawk Kid wrote:Segregation works!Steeley wrote:
From what I can gather the segregation works, only when games aren't segregated there are issues, sensible option would be to segregate all matches regardless of competition or opposition.
I think you have more of an issue with away fans having a small part of the HS end, each to their own but its not a problem for me, there's plenty of it left for Barrow fans for the few halves of football matches it is actually used.
So how do you explain the pushing and shoving of Taunton fans at the replay?![]()
The coins that were thrown?![]()
You'd have to have Bionic Arms to participate in such activities - if segregation was a good distance from opposing supporters.
True; the Holker End should be primarily HOME Turf IMO but I have no issue with away fans currently being positioned there (apart from the safety issues I've pointed out). Different matter when the roof is installed, though!
My concerns are based on safety of the fans - home and away - and our stewards.

There was a young lad in the "safety officer and police control only" box tonight, must have been an undercover police spotter

roughly...i said the stewards get criticised for doing nothing, then criticised for taking action.genuine fans have been complainining to the stewards about these young lads behaviour.also i pointed out somebody already commented about the york city mini bus which was only a few weeks ago..all the stewards were doing was trying to nip these lads in the bud before they got out of hand..plus it must of been only one game because some of them were there tonight...at the end of the day if these lads carry on.its the clubs name that gets dragged through the mud. plus i told him too stop talking shite,,lol

Don't assume anything. I don't recall the post you're referring to and haven't deleted any posts from this topic.nebulus wrote:roughly...i said the stewards get criticised for doing nothing, then criticised for taking action.genuine fans have been complainining to the stewards about these young lads behaviour.also i pointed out somebody already commented about the york city mini bus which was only a few weeks ago..all the stewards were doing was trying to nip these lads in the bud before they got out of hand..plus it must of been only one game because some of them were there tonight...at the end of the day if these lads carry on.its the clubs name that gets dragged through the mud. plus i told him too stop talking shite,,lol
Richard Ingham & Ste Story also moderate the forum and posts are only deleted (or edited) if they're abusive, untrue etc. so if its as you describe above it wouldn't have been deleted. Try posting it again?
By all means bar those who caused trouble but I know of lads who were barred from entering on Saturday who were nothing whatsoever to do with what happened at the Taunton game (some were stood by us on the Popular Side) and it was obvious the stewards didn't know who to bar from entering. Around 15-20 were barred that I saw but in addition others were also barred, many of whom were totally innocent as mentioned by others in this thread and the Solihull match thread which is completely unacceptable.

Re: Clueless stewards barring innocent fans
It sounds like the stewards could do with a little help in identifying the scrotes who cause the trouble. If you know which ones didn't do it, is it reasonable to think that you know at least some of the ones who did...and could identify them to the club/stewards in a community-driven effort to stamp out hooliganism at our club?John Very Little wrote:

Good idea instead of comments slagging off stewards and police a bit of assistance to Id the little yoblets and inform parents would be welcome am sure. Those that stand with them or encourage mates to be prats are just as bad in my book.We are all judged by company we keep in this world.

Were they all back by the fence last night taunting the Yorkshire lads with phones lit up...sure I saw a small crowd in the second half.

It is unreasonable to think that Hoss because the so-called issue was on the Holker end and I was stood at the snack bar end of the Popular Side at the time (not that I have to explain myself to the likes of you). Who else are you going to falsely accuse of not being a grass?Bigfathoss wrote:It sounds like the stewards could do with a little help in identifying the scrotes who cause the trouble. It wasn't hooliganism as you imply and it wasn't caused by the number of people that the stewards at both the Cross Bar end and Popular Side wrongly barred on Saturday either. It would help if the stewards watched the crowd rather than the match so they'd have a better view of those causing problems.
Fans taunting each other happens at football grounds up and down the country.mrsenario wrote:Were they all back by the fence last night taunting the Yorkshire lads with phones lit up...sure I saw a small crowd in the second half.

Well, when you have put your handbag down and stopped having palpitations... I never accused at all. I asked the question (the question mark at the end of the sentence was the give-away I thought).John Very Little wrote:It is unreasonable to think that Hoss because the so-called issue was on the Holker end and I was stood at the snack bar end of the Popular Side at the time (not that I have to explain myself to the likes of you). .
I do so love the phrase 'the likes of you'. However I qualify for that remark, I shall wear it as a badge of honour.
I believe the discussion has been centred around those who did and did not partake in crowd-baiting, aggressive behaviour and coin throwing. I would call that hooliganism. I don't know what it would have to be to qualify in the eyes of 'the likes of you'.
Btw...'not being a grass' comment made me chortle. I didn't realise you were 12 years old.
Now, I'm sorry I caught you on your period. I'll let it alone now.

Re: Clueless stewards barring innocent fans
i spoke to one of the stewards today..it seems some who claimed they wasn't there the previous game, infact were.also their was some with tickets who wasn't there who were told they could go in,but not the culprits.they chose not to go in. apparently the refusal of entry was also only for one game.if it stops a repeat of recent events ,surely this is a good thing?
