Oh no! It was always going to be the Stu Nichols fan club that got priority.[/quote]

Who is Stu Nichols? Perhaps I'll get to meet him on Saturday

Seriously can't believe what I'm reading on here. We got selected...due to our 10 year old being picked out of the trust members. We attend fairly regularly but are not in any sort of clique, was a pleasant surprise when we received the phone call. Seems to me a former member of this forum that it'd be ok if your name got drawn, but there's 5 pages of whinging because it wasn't. Can't please all the people all the time

Yep because that'd work wouldn't it........just turn up with your kids for a photo with the FAC......300 kids turn up and then people moan that they can't get into the X Bar. BTW, I do think kids should be able to see the FAC close up and I will ask if they can get a photo opportunity.

Also, the BBC requested this so how does anyone know if this sort of thing isn't wrote into the FAC sponsorship deal?
The cup would end up on Barrow Seek and Sell. Possible swap deal for baccy considered.

Well done Ian for being as fair as possible with the allocation. You knew it was a poisoned chalice but what the hell.

People go on about the Xbar regulars but I am casting my mind back to the couple of years when we were relegated and there were about 6 to 12 regulars in the Xbar. No one wanted to know then. Ok, it is rammed now because we are having some success but the ones who stayed loyal are the ones rewarded.
Even now there's as steady stream of fans leaving at half time to go to the Soccer Bar. Always have and always will probably.
That's their choice but don't start bleating about unfairness.
Why does every occasion have to be marred by the whingers and moaners.

There was a very short window in which to turn this around. It was thought that the quickest way to reach as many of our members as possible in the time available was to use Facebook. So, yes, it was communicated, though we knew at the outset that not everyone would see it. Apologies to those who didn't get the message, or saw it when it was too late, but time was of the essence.

Andy McKinnon, NSC Chairman.
I would have thought that using the email list for sending out the National Zigger would have been the obvious choice as this would have reached most (although I accept not all) members, rather than the Facebook page which few even know about because it hasn't been publicised.

But then, I'm only an ordinary ex-member.

By all means give the places to those who deserve it. Just dont tell us that hundreds of names have been put into a hat and drawn for the rest
For Gods sake man will you grow up! A draw was made by the club at random and unfortunately people may have missed out.

You're complaining about the usual faces who are being 'selected' however, these people travel up and down the country supporting their team and deserve an it of recognistion which is very kind of Mr Casson.

I can't imagine the same moaning if you had be one of the selected to view the football focus show.

I have zero objection as someone who has not been selected on not having a place due to people who support their team all over, season ticket holders and regulars to the bar!

So how did a 10 year old child with no affiliation to the clique you refer to get selected then?

I don't understand your point.
Are you saying that fans who drink in The Soccer Bar are NOT as loyal as the fans who drink in The Cross Bar?
Or have I misinterpreted your comment?
