Barrow v Kiddermister match thread

In the quarters, a win against a decent side BUT bored shitless. Wish we would let the shackles off and play football at times. Not a complaint about the way the seasons going which is above my expectations but i can't remember the last time i got home and said "what a great game that was". We talk about crowd level's all the time on here and people talk about ticket deals, merchandise blah blah blah. Play decent football and football fans will come, play the way we do and only the die hards will turn up unless it's a big game. Can really understand why we are getting a reputation as effective but god awful to watch. And then we have the cheek to moan when someone does a job on us like cooper did last week. Pleased be in the Q/F but crowds won't improve with this anti-football we play

Anybody else think like this? Last three games v Lincoln / FGR and today I have been pleased with our game

I can remember the last time I enjoyed a game - two games ago when we beat the top of the league by three goals.
This anti-football stuff is nonsense - we've been the better side and played the best football in the past three games, but some fans would rather we knock it about at the back for 90 mins. Talk about anti-football, then talk about FGR's antics.

You want to the patronisingly obvious answer as to why we didn't "let the shackles off" at 1-0 today? Put it this way, you'd be the first to moan if it went to a replay.

So you enjoyed it , so did i and like i said, we are exceeding my expectations but if you think our style of football is good to watch then good on you but from a personal point of view, it's boring as [SwearFilter]. Will i still go to HS? Of course i will, i've known nothing else since 1974 apart from a small gap when i lived in Glasgow. Seems no-onea allowed an opinion on here anymore. But as i say, if you like the old Wimbledon way then fair play

I agree with blue nige for once, the ref told him to take it twice, then ran over to book him, had his card ready and bottled it. As he'd already been booked.. Opposite way round wede have been annoyed.

I think Beeley can thank Paul Turnbull for staying on the pitch.
The referee was pulling the yellow card out to book Beeley when Turnbull ran alongside the referee to remind him he had already been booked and it would be a sending off.
He then put the card back in his pocket and gave Beeley a stern telling off instead.

Kiddy gave us a decent game, both sides mainly cancelled each other out in a rather flat first half.

Tempo increased second half with chances falling to both sides. Richie Bennett Coolness personified dispached the impressive Shaun Tutons cross.

Great header from Paul Turnbull to clear the Barrow area and superb save from John Flatt kept those hopes of silverware alive.

The problem is, your opinion is all over the place - did you enjoy it or were you bored shitless? Personally, I think we play better football than at least half the teams at our level, and a whole lot better than the hoofball we were playing a few years ago.

Kiddy a nice footballing team, looked dangerous going fwd but without real penetration.. perhaps that was our defence though? Incredible header from Bully and great save in the last minute to see us home.
We seemed to take ages to work out they weren't going to hump it and were always going to play it out. Once we started cling down quicker we were more productive.
Solid debut from JT, looks to have plenty about him. Beeley was my MoM today, thought he led the way today when we were stuttering a bit.

Yep Beeley was our MOM in the main stand. A great signing and anyone who gives 100% like he does will always be popular at Barrow

If he carries on he will be in the running for Player of the season. He has my vote up to now.

Tuton was our MoM in the Brian Arrowsmith Stand. Beeley let himself down by risking a second booking for silly time wasting and the ref did change his mind when he realised Beeley had been booked already. Having said that I think there have been games where he could have won MoM and his commitment is 100% every match.
For Tuton to come into a side for the first time and play like that had to be a MoM performance.
