Nick Anderton
Re: Nick Anderton
wish all you "Xperts" on here would stop mouthing off and give the Club some merit. Those better players we have gone have moved to professional sides. We have made some money and life goes on so grow up and get on with it. Back the Club or back off or even back out.

Erm I will have what you are on Juventus ,Everton? No comparison.spirit of 1990 wrote:So using your theory, Juventus have no plan or are cash strapped for (possibly) selling Sandro for £60m? Everton's plan B must be shit as well seeing as they are probably going to let Chelsea sign Lukaku for £70m....unsure how Chelsea could afford that though because they too must have been "cash strapped" or their "plan was also wrong" when they sold David Luiz to PSG for £50m. In the real world, players are there for the taking at whatever level (if the price is right)Pedro wrote:Selling players when you say you have a plan shows either you are cash strapped or the plan was wrong in the first place.
Sit back, relax and try taking in a sensible view like Suffolk Blues above.
They sell players and buy established players.
Which Marque signing have we made?

Just give it a rest Pedro.
Everton sign young players from the lower leagues. They sign young players from the same league. They sign older players with established careers. They sign old players at the end of their careers. They sign players on loan. They sign players that have failed at a bigger club, and they sign players that have failed at similar level clubs. They are no different to us. They sign players that the manager thinks will add value to the squad.
I could give examples but what's the point.

And they sell young players to bigger clubs. They sell good players to other clubs. They release players at the end of their careers. They release players to get cash of the wage bill.
They sell players or release players when they think it is good value to do so.

You can have what I'm on by all means, it's called perspective.Pedro wrote:Erm I will have what you are on Juventus ,Everton? No comparison.spirit of 1990 wrote:

I used some of the biggest clubs in the world as an example for a reason, and that is just to show how daft the original quoted part of your post is. Clubs of that size absolutely must have plans in place, but still sell their top players if the right offer comes in.
Juventus, West Ham, Walsall, Southport....it's all the same, just on different levels.
I could've searched all over the place to find clubs that do the same in the leagues below us to prove my point but I couldn't be arsed because you'd still spout something that works in your head and suits your agenda.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Can't remember the last time Juventus were forced to panic sign loan players in January......

Re: Nick Anderton
Anderton and Williams would not be where they are today if we had not put them in the shop window. Fact. Surely that must vastly increase our standing as an attraction for young players wanting to move up or kick start their career. As for the panic regarding the squad I for one don't share it.Danny Cowley said this week in response to similar fears at Lincoln "Clubs have signed players at vastly inflated rates in a rush to fill their squads. With EFL contracts only up this week the market will bottom out and wage demands reduce. There is no need to panic. We will be ready".I'm sure Paul Cox shares them sentiments .He will have known the chance of players moving on and had replacements already sourced. Persuading them to join us is the next trick. My initial comments will surely help. His major concern now has to be the back four where I think we need experience and a vocal leader.Lets not forget we have a raft of PSF's coming up which was where,in the old days,we often discovered and signed new players.Away with negativity, another chapter awaits.

Re: Nick Anderton
Anderton always had a great attitude and gave 100% every time I saw him play. I hope he does well for Blackpool.
