Plus, he ran himself into the ground :scarf: :scarf:

Really pleased I drove through from Preston for the match today! Best 40 odd minutes I've seen a Barrow team play in ages. At 2-0 we were looking awesome; then a mistake let's them in. ARH challenge was a clean tackle that took the ball, but was two footed and will always be a red card. 2nd half was great for a load of different reasons - we were resilient, worked our socks off and the crowd was 100% behind the lads - the banter forced a few mistakes from their clown Nr8 who ARH battered 😉

Loved the match, loved the atmosphere, loved the pitch and loved the result even more.

The management team did really well today, Great that we attempted to leave 2 up top when down to 10.......our football was good to watch too. With Gomez, Dunne, Hall, mousssa and our 2 strikers we are as good as anyone in this league........

Prenton Park here we come; Barrovian Bedlam....... :scarf:

Recently we went a man down v Solihull we took a midfielder off for a defender it didn't end well. Today we knew we were better wen to a back 4. Kept 2 up front.
Fair play to the manager for keeping an attacking shape.

All about getting the win today but it sounds like we've played some good stuff.

Moore made an error. However he more than made up for it with some great saves. The last one in 7th min of sick time gave us the points. Moores won the day in two aspects

A good overall performance the whole team played well today I thought once we went down to 10 men we might struggle but we did well even with the ref giving us nothing much a good 3 points an some decent football played well done

That first 40 minutes was outstanding looked a red to me but it 's all about interpretation second half Yussef missed a simple header which could have settled the nerves! Thought young dunne deserves a mention but hard to pick a man of the match. ..... everyone :D

spirit of 1990 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 02, 2017 6:05 pm What the first page or two of posts don't seem to mention (not sure whether that's the radio commentary at fault!) but we were all over them and with a bit of luck could've been 3 or 4 up. Byron had a chance in the first minute & Moussa forced their keeper into a great save. At that point we were playing some of the best football I've seen at HS for quite a while.
Sending off soon spoilt that, couldn't tell if it was deserved from where we were but ARH's harshest critic :) who sits right by the incident said it wasn't a red.....that alone convinces me it wasn't

The flowing football went slightly out of the window the second half as we dug in and they tried to take advantage of the extra man, not that it wasn't still entertaining because it was.

Hard to pick any players out for special praise but Gomis, (who is looking better and better every game) Moussa, Jones and of course Moore (apart from the mistake) who saved us the three points with a cracking save at the end all deserve credit. Got to agree with an earlier post about Yussuf, he battles well but get little protection from ref's.

Pretty poor referee who let the continuous shirt pulling by BW go unpunished all of the game.

Lovely sunny day, three points and playing good football.....the stay aways missed a treat.
Thanks Ian, I thought he won the ball. I need to see it again. I thought he was harshly punished.
Thought the other 2 bookings were poor as well.
No one seems to have mentioned the referees performance. I thought he had a shocker and gave us very little today.
Only the no 8 rolling on the floor screaming and the Boreham Wood players surrounding the ref got ARH sent off.
That was our best starting 11 this season, although Harrison doesn't look fit he got a good hour game time....
Who's idea is the playing football bit? I like it......we looked excellent and a 4-1 scoreline should of been about right...
A good game, 3 pts.... weather good, pitch looked excellent.....new lights finished.....Crisis....What Crisis....
Just wait until numb nuts comes on here later....
And drags it all down....

Not sure who picked the MOM but got it right with Dan Jones, closely followed by Gomis who is an excellent signing....

Alex has said that he'd watched it back and he thinks the ref got it right. Although it was just about the only thing he did get right, absolutely shocking. Gave us nothing all day.

As for the team performance, best of the season so far without question. The way we dug in after the interval was superb, and having made the brave decision to leave two up top after going down to ten, it was a fully deserved victory.

Jones got MOTM, having slotted seamlessly into midfield in the second half to fill in for Harvey. It could've gone to a few though, Jimmy Dunne moved to LB and did very well, he looks a cracking defender too. I would've given it to Barthram though, tireless, aggressive, and finished his chance excellently.

Well done lads, onwards and upwards.

Couldn't make today and won't be able to for at least the next 6 weeks. Good to hear we played exciting football in the 1st half and could then dig in and get the result 2nd half. Strange looking league table at the moment

Great day out that. Gomis and Dunne the stand-out performers for me. One negative was the arh challenge, thought he got away with one the other nite at fylde as well so he's gonna have to learn and learn quickly from this cos places clearly up for grabs. Another one nagging away is the attendances. We played well today and the weather was brilliant. What exactly were you doing today if you claim to support this football team? (Not aimed at anyone meaningfully employed or out of towners either)

Yep, 2pts from the play offs but only 3 pts from a bottom 4 position.....
Looking like everyone can beat everyone else this year......
