Excellent point that Kieran. Getting the ball out wide to full backs then playing it backwards into the centre midfielders isn't good football. We (as we have been for years) are desperate for some pace in the team, two quick wingers on the break terrifies defenders at this level more than anything else

Casson was worried about the crowds so demanded a new style of play and implemented a new transfer policy.

Cox didn't like that and resigned. Now the club have a new style of play that isn't bearing fruit and the crowds are down.

If you believe a manager can come in on a permanent basis and enforce his style of play within 4 or 5 games onto a team that he didn't choose and be successful then you don't know this game. I'm not saying that the reasons for this situation are right, that Moore is the right man for the job or what the Cassons have done is right, but you cant expect this new style of play to yield results immediately and neither should the Cassons. If we are going to be fair to Moore he has been tasked with implementing a new style of play (which incidentally i don't agree with, not at this time anyway) he needs to be given time for that to happen (even if we dont have any)

You'd expect it to start showing some signs of improvement by now. Cox did pretty well when he took over.

I didn't go to Hartlepool last night or Tranmere so can't comment on our style of play but getting beat in the last min often relates to a lack of concentration or focus from the players - not bad luck - as Mickey Moore proclaims in the Evening Mail.

The EM interview with Moore makes it sound like we were unlucky and by far the best team last night. Was this the case? I'd like to hear the views of supporters who traveled last night.

Had the better chances to win the game. Alot of the Hartlepool forum believe we were just the better team and took the game to them.

Actually we were the best team last night, but when everything including luck is against you, it just doesn't happen.

Result apart, it was a cracking day out at Hartlepool yesterday, with a number of Barrow supporters staying overnight; we were still putting the Holker Street world to rights in a local hostelry until well after midnight - much coffee was needed at breakfast today!

The Rat Race micropub on the railway station was well worth a visit for a couple of pints of local (well, local to Barrow - it was from Coniston) ale, and to be greeted by the question "Whereabouts in Barrow do you come from?". It turned out that the owner's wife was a Barrow lass and he knew the town - and Ulverston - very well. In fact the glasses he was using originated at an Ulverston beer festival!

very rare do I post on this forum, but if you look at coxs results at guiseley he hasn't exactly hit the ground running.4 draws and 2 defeats isn't great. Moore needs time to adapt his style of play he has been unlucky in quite a few of the games. Fylde tranmere Hartlepool to name a few they should have had some kind of result. Players have to be accountable as well as the manager, if they put the ball in the net like they should be doing you are talking about a different scenario. Moore isn't everybody's cup of tea I know but if those results had gone the other way we would be congratulating the guy.Football is about fine margins and at the minute things aren't quite going for the guy.Time will tell and I hope his luck changes.just saying.

Its a results business.

1 win in 9 simply won't do. Can't be finding solace in improved performances if the results aren't right. It will lead to relegation.

The worrying thing for me is it’s 1 win in 9 against mainly very average opposition.

The sooner we realise that we aren't a money club, Casson isn't as loaded as what we 1st thought and we are just average non league club the better. It just might unite the support. See you all at the statue outside mcdonalds tomorrow at 12.15. Don't just [SwearFilter] moan, do something.

Ive asked it a few times now but where do the points come from these league games?

Losing to very average teams and now have to take on some play off contenders and title hopefuls.

Sat 7th: Leyton Orient (H) (Relegated last season , struggling but only need one game to kick start)
Sat 21st: Ebbsfleet Utd (A) Started well and have a decent backing with some high earning players
Tue 24th: Chester (A) Six pointer. Second most likely victory.
Sat 28th: Aldershot Town (H) League hopefuls

November
Sat 11th: Macclesfield Town (H) Top of the league currently
Sat 18th: Eastleigh (A) (will Eastleigh be this low all season?, awaiting a kick start)
Tue 21st: Gateshead (A) ( in recent times have Barrow come away from gateshead with a decent result?)
Sat 25th: Bromley (H) The main realistic aim for a win.

Another thing thats worrying at the moment is who is in and around Barrow in the table.

Come the end of the season, will Leyton Orient, Eastleigh, Gateshead, Tranmere and Hartlepool be down the far end of the table? Most have the resources to change at any time and invest in the squad in January.
If this is the case then Barrow need to start thinking about making up the 10+ points on the likes of Maidenhead, Bromley and Boreham Wood and fast!

I have no issue with MM as a person but I just can't take to him as a manager and ultimately we need to start getting points on the board before we end up being the best footballing side to be relegated. I sincerely hope MM can manage that as I am taking no joy from the situation (unlike some seemingly) but I just can't see it happening.

Another thing that I think has been badly done is the way Casson has massively built up expectations only for us to fall well short. For me, the best years I have had supporting Barrow were the immediate aftermath of the Vaughan mess culminating in the win at Kidderminster (sounds silly but hear me out) to stay up and the days of Sheridan/Bayliss when they were both here. Winning the trophy against all odds, staying up for as long as we did. The football was never pretty but we were all pulling in the same direction.

These days due to these hyped up expectations and false promises it seems like everyone is pulling in a different direction and it makes it a hell of a lot easier to go and do something with the family or whatever on a match day.

I think the best way to get the people coming back is to simmer down expectations (if the budget is as big as he states, keep it like that but stop the statements like the one becoming infamous on here and perhaps set a more realistic target like mid table). Us fans always enjoyed it when we were the underdog and I think if we were aiming for mid table and had a manager with the passion and connection that Daz and Dave had with the fans then we could start getting the feel good factor about. I also think the club missed a good opportunity with the managerial appointment and all of the crap that came with the club trying to justify the appointment (but at least we do medicals now...BRILLIANT).

I know Bayliss ended his spell here on a bad note but I do think I would love to see how him and Sheridan would do on the budget that we supposedly have. Maybe one day?

Keep the faith and I'll try to; probably see you Saturday if I can motivate myself for the game.
Steve Herbert supports the nob theory - Saturday 4th February 2012.

If this bus crashed and everybody on it died, Barrow football would end - Daz Boyle, Boston away, August 9th 2014.

I think the main problem is most people see where we were last January and, with a few additions, could probably have gone on and finished in a higher position, maybe even promoted. This was our best ever chance and everything since then seems to have been a step backwards
