If we are looking to have someone with better than Paul Cox , who btw should never left the club or been forced out, then we have three people who are experienced and have better stats than Cox who had a win ratio of 42.1 % from 280 games/ 118 wins

Mills 42.8% 949 games / 406 wins
Wesley 45.9% 893 games / 410 wins
Brabin 47.3 % 207 games / 98 wins

So as they say in financial investments past performance is not a guarantee of future results ,however it's not a bad indicator

Whoever we choose there will be objections from within our own support and fans of clubs who these guys have managed but any of the above at least have a track record.

Mills is my choice because he has done this before in getting a club to the football league and he likes to play attacking attractive football too if possible .

Big decision but it's not a time for a rookie IMO.
Always with the meaningless stats. How many of those seasons have those three managers that you've cited been in the same division? I'm guessing not many.
Also the percentages don't mean a lot unless there's some context to who they were managing - to put that simply, a boss of Burnley with a win percentage of 35% is more impressive than a boss of Man City with a win percentage of 45%.
It gives no indication of the style of football, nor if they're capable of motivating a struggling bunch of players.

So to say those three are better than Cox because they had a handful more wins is just nonsense.

If you're using stats to decide who you want as boss, then you're naive at best.
Yeah can see your argument, but surely they can give some sort of guidance.

So dont agree that they are meaningless.

Mills has taken a club York City back to football league, a target we want to achieve, so has experience, one of the favourites in the poll is Gary Holt who has no record at all.

I wasnt saying they were better than Cox, only stats were comparable.

Who would your choice be and why?

So you now have a problem with the previous BoD's as well as the present set-up?

DS was at fault and that's why he went....and you know that, but hey, why waste the opportunity to stick another knife in.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

I'm quite surprised that so many people think Graham Barrow would be a good idea. He's done nothing of note for years now. Even in his managerial prime his career wasn't exactly littered with success. What is it that people think would make him a good appointment?

From those available (not just on this poll but in general) Justin Edinburgh would be my pick if we could attract him. He's had recent success at this level and above, and barring a dodgy last year or so at Gillingham and Northampton he's done a good job wherever he's been. He's always talked sense whenever I've seen him interviewed too.

The stats are comparable, in so much that they sound roughly similar - but I'm saying that when you analyse them, look at who's actually done what and and in which division, there isn't really anything that can be used as a scientific/statistical comparison.

My choice? I honestly don't know. But from what I've read and heard from other fans, Mills and Brabin are stuck in the past - probably good for no more than a six-month stint.
I would try and get someone from Conference North/South with a good reputation, but any success probably hinges entirely on whether they can get the players on side and motivate them.

Sticking no knife in at all. No problem with the keens atall - good honest people. yes ds was apparently in the wrong. My point is that in my opnion if my brother/sister was previously fired from a club then that club/company would not be the top of my list to work for.

I think we'll appoint someone that can build something out of not much resources. I don't think the manager will have much of a budget due to it been blasted on this current squad by Ogden/Cox, so is going to have to rely on loans and frees. It's a very challenging situation for a manager to come into so will be really interesting go see who we go for.

Personally I'd go for an experienced head who's done well on a shoestring budget previously. Not sure who though

Never ventured further north than Northampton as a player or manager though. Bit of a southerner

So you'd carry a grudge against a company even though that company was under a different owner altogether...and even if your Brother/Sister was also in the wrong when at that company? And in this case (a football club) the supporters actually liked your Brother/Sister.

A lot of your posts are digs at the club, so I'll stick with my first thoughts.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.
