Re: Andy Parry- Out for rest of season???

Heartening to read that in the days where club's are quite often accused of treating players like a piece of meat we are doing the honourable thing. Andy is now out of contract but the club seem to be standing by him and helping out with his recouperation. Hope it pays dividends for both parties.

Didn't Cowperthwaite disappear to Asia for a few months? And didn't the manager deem him surplus to requirements? Hardly comparable.

Just thought we had learned lessons from Niall and are doing it right now!! Some real cynicism on here at times.

No.
He was a handful of appearances away from an automatic contract renewal at the time and starting most games

It was the summer break and he was injured/out of contract, wasn't he??? Either way, there was a reason why they didn't want to extend his contract.

It’s Cowperthwite that’s retired.
Parry is still young enough to recover and play a role.
Even Pedro can’t knock the club (Cassons?) for standing by him and doing the right thing.
Parry has a good football brain, and I never saw him out of position. He’s a tad slow, but good on the ball and an excellent header of the ball. Unflappable, particularly for a scouser.
Sooner he is back the better.

Andy parry is a good footballer at our level.he pulls the defence and midfield together and always seems to be there to make the pass or tackle. When he is fit he will be an asset again to our squad. Not a flash player but very effective
