Sorry Mr Hornby. In your quite laudable attempts to build a bond with the squad, you should not confuse effort with guts or passion. Having watched this team since the late bronze age I can tell the difference between the two.

Apart from 5 minutes or so after being gifted an equaliser at NO POINT yesterday did we look like taking anything from this game. We defended poorly for all three goals and looked toothless up front against a team that 12 months ago we'd have bullied and beaten. We are told that you are no shrinking violet and are not afraid to confront uncomfortable truths. Well the uncomfortable truth in this case is that passion and a touch of pure bloody-mindedness need to be instilled into this bunch. Hugging and hoping is no longer an option and it is clear that some of them understandably or not have their minds in the wrong place. Some may now be in that "well I'll take my money and move on when I can " mode. If so please don't feel afraid to expose it and if necessary make an example of it. You will not lose the fans (nor the owners probably) by doing so.

If you are a truly a caretaker manager then fine. Ensuring in a temporary capacity that those under your management are at least engaged and doing the basics effectively is about the most we can ask. If however you have any real aspirations to manage the club permanently (and last for more than a few games) then you will need to instill in the squad if not additional skills then a few old fashioned Barrovian values. If you do that then you'll have the fans at least with you.

I agree, I couldn't agree more. And whats more, 'I' think there is one big almighty kick in the [SwearFilter] coming for us in terms of who the club 'does' appoint.

From speaking to him i dont think he does want it.
When moore was interim he was very open with the fact he wanted the job.
Hornby on the other hand when asked about the job said it straight he hasnt thought about it and doesn't want to think about it.
