Re: Grant Holt
Well, this thread sure goes to show you can't please all of the people all of the time!
I for one welcome the news, if confirmed.

Re: Grant Holt
Or is Holt abiding with league protocol and will not say anything to Kings Lynn until the official period for him to talk to Barrow starts. Yes we all know it is probably done and dusted already.
But Holt has the chance of working with a top non league manager that was until recently working in the football league. Would he get the same class experience at King Lynn. Its life! Crap happens, we have had a torrid time so, so what if Grant wants to further himself. I see it as an honour he thinks that our club and new boss is where he thinks it is best to learn.

Re: Grant Holt
I genuinely can’t remember the majority of our fan base (looking at social media etc) being this excited in a very long time
Re: Grant Holt
If this is correct, fantastic. However until I see official confirmation it has all the hallmarks of another PR disaster and if it doesn't come off the sh1t really will hit every fan on the Casson ranch, though it clearly wouldn't be their fault. As I read it at the moment we have given Kings Lynn seven days notice of approach and nothing else. From there someone has picked it up and run with it.Don't get me wrong, this has the potential to be our 'Dave and Daz' moment and propel us on a good run,but the backlash if it doesn't happen will be merciless.
Re: Grant Holt
Thanks glad to see we are following protocol yet again suppose its the way of the world Donald Trump would be proud of us.
A really good signing and from a Evostik club thats really burst the budget , Holt is a improvement. all we need now is 2 wingers at least one midfielder and a centre half.
Let me know paddy when we actually pay a fee for a player .
Re: Grant Holt
Signing for Kings Lynn, he swapped no work for paid work - no brainer.liverpoolann wrote: ↑Sat Nov 04, 2017 9:35 pm Having read that non league article where he said it was a no brainer he sign for kings lyn cos of family etc and assistance in coaching role I think he has not treated them well.Yes he is ex pro played high level loads of experience
but appears he just following the money if coming back here.I can understand the people who think he be good asset but can’t say I am impressed with way he has gone about things.
Now he's swapping non contract for a secure deal - that's a no brainer.
If he wasn't Grant Holt, and we just signed some random striker who'd been at Kings Lynn for five minutes, you wouldn't care less about how he'd gone about things.

how we get there i don,t no.Barrows on the way
Re: Grant Holt
The club management seem to have done things by the book. The leak apparently came from Kings Lynn. The club statement only came in response to that leak. I cannot understand why any backlash should happen against the Cassons or the club in general.SKIPPER wrote: ↑Sat Nov 04, 2017 11:25 pm If this is correct, fantastic. Re: Grant Holt
Fantastic to have Grant back at the club that kickstarted his impressive career, what he’ll have left in the tank for this level remains to be seen but of corse brings a wealth of experience to pass on to the current squad/future squads.
Credit to the club for this one, add to that the open training session for kids earlier in the week. Realy hope similar things continue.

Re: Grant Holt
He can certainly help make the strikers at the club better players especially the younger ones like Yuosuff,White and Harry P with his knowledge and experience.BoltonBlue wrote: ↑Sun Nov 05, 2017 8:56 am Fantastic to have Grant back at the club that kickstarted his impressive career, what he’ll have left in the tank for this level remains to be seen but of corse brings a wealth of experience to pass on to the current squad/future squads.

Also he has crested a feel good factor already and he isn't here yet.
Lots of fans wanted him in as manager but to me this allows him to learn his trade in management alongside an experienced head in Pennock.
After the last few months it's great to have positivity back.
