Re: New Manager
We are an absolute shambles at the moment and it beggars belief some people on here are looking forward to the new season, we still have no manager, virtually no players and a transfer policy which revolves around paul ogden(an average at best lower non league manager) signing players from 2/3 leagues below who are not up yo the required level but thats ok as they are young and hungry! Theres absolutely no doubt we will get relagated and I'm far from looking forward to it

Re: New Manager
Not up to the required standard? For gods sake they only signed last week and haven’t kicked a ball yet. And people think Barrow fans are overly negative?? No idea where they get it from!?michaelstreet75 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 09, 2018 3:40 pm We are an absolute shambles at the moment and it beggars belief some people on here are looking forward to the new season, we still have no manager, virtually no players and a transfer policy which revolves around paul ogden(an average at best lower non league manager) signing players from 2/3 leagues below who are not up yo the required level but thats ok as they are young and hungry! Re: New Manager
I really don't care anymore
I'd still go if we appointed Stephen Vaughan as manager.
Yeah it's shit, it's always been shit, but along with it being slightly more shit than the usual shit we have put up with for as long as I can remember , we have the Cassons talking shit
So to summarise- it's shit

Re: New Manager
Not negativity. Fans will put their reservations aside about signing players from three leagues below and back them 100% if they put their all into to it.mightywhite wrote: ↑Sat Jun 09, 2018 3:47 pmNot up to the required standard? You have to recognise many fans are voicing concern about the way things have gone since end of last season. We thought we’d consign last season to the write off bin, dust ourselves down and with the (ironically) sort of manager Casson is looking for at the helm, Pennock would have had a chance to sort out the mess. Instead, he left and we had the announcement, all of which has thrown a lot of doubt into the minds of fans who are growing disillusioned with just about everything and the messages coming out of the club about the process of bringing in this next manager adds to it. Fans are growing tired of the latest round of due diligence manager spiel. We’ve just let a man go who ticked the boxes and I think this has added to fan frustration and wearing out the patience of many.

Couldn't agree more with this bit. Its unbelievable the amount of faith they appear to put in Ogden.michaelstreet75 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 09, 2018 3:40 pm We are an absolute shambles at the moment and it beggars belief some people on here are looking forward to the new season, we still have no manager, virtually no players and a transfer policy which revolves around paul ogden(an average at best lower non league manager)
We are completely and utterly shambolic.

Re: New Manager
We’ve got 11 contracted players. We want rid of 4 of them. The remaining seven players include two goalkeepers and Grant Holt. I can’t see Diarra and Makoma signing new contracts. Looks like being another small squad this season. Yes, we’ve got time to sign players but i’m not convinced they’ll be the right ones. I’m not confident about this season.
Re: New Manager
Would say all his concerns are perfectly valid. Personally don't think there's anything to be optimistic about allowing a scout to sign a few unproven, not very young players from 2 leagues below too add to a squad full of shite players from last season and too then too top it off with an owner allowed his clueless son to run the club.mightywhite wrote: ↑Sat Jun 09, 2018 3:47 pmNot up to the required standard? Will end up being relegated with holt in charge and a squad full of players who tried but ultimately weren't good enough.

Re: New Manager
A cynic would think that this was all deliberate, team not that good fans stop going then Mr Casson could say see the town doesn't want a football team then leave but have I been reading too much Pedro?!

At least the Tour Of Britain, Stage 6,is starting in Barrow for the first time ever on 7th September bringing a little bit of joy to the town. Things can only get better.

Re: New Manager
He's spent all he is going to spend he hasn't had good value for money and he's wasted cash when he should have been spending money in areas to generate money. He's had enough and the club needs to generate the money to supply the team.
I do agree the management saga has been a shambles and needs sorting ASAP.
In terms of the club I don't think Casson wants to walk away completely or allow the club to go bust.. If he transfered the ground to a different company and charged the club rent I'd be more worried because the ground we play on is our main asset.
Let's hope we can get it sorted soon
